Hi,

DH & I are going to pass through Orlando in early February and want to see DC & SW. Is it realistic to allot one day for each or will we be rushing?

The SW website doesn't list the hours for February but it does appear that they close around 6pm during the off season times. Can you enjoy SW in one day or is it a two day park?

Well you'd certainly want to spend a full day at Discovery Cove since it is expensive! You can request your dolphin encounter for am or pm and the day includes lunch.
Also, your DC price includes seven days admission to Sea World, which you won't really benefit from if you only have a day to spare.
That said, Sea World can be done in a day if you arrive at opening, get your park guide on which is listed the show times, and aim for your "must dos" - major attractions like the Shamu show and the Sea Lion and Otter Stadium show, plus of course you have the two big rides, Kraken and Journey To Atlantis. There are many more attractions that I would hate to miss, so do use the info we have to find out more about them Here and post as many questions as you like to help plan your visit
:D

Oh, yes. we're definitely devoting a whole day to DC. I was just curious about SW.

Sorry, I'm still not completely clear on this. SW doesn't look that big to me but it sounds like you are saying that we'd only see the "must dos" in one day & we'd have to forgo a lot of other attractions. Is that right?

Keeping in mind that it will be the off season (low crowds but shorter hours) and the fact that DH & I are park commandos :) , how much time do you think we'll need to see the whole park?

I know you get a 7 day pass but I truly can't imagine spending an entire week on this park...even Disney, with all they have to offer, gets old after a week ;)

Thanks for the help!

Ah - park commandos :) - I like your style :) ! Yes, then I do think you will get to see the whole park in a day if you plan it well. On our first visit, we did find that planning the shows to fit in with each other without regard for where the shows were, had us toing and froing across the park, not realising how big the park was, and how early some of the shows have the best seats taken - the Shamu show and the Sea Lion and Otter show in particular. These two shows have pre-show fun, the mime artist at the Sea Lion show is really funny.
Now we take the park at a far more measured pace - it always seems to be very hot on the days we choose to go! The DC pass means that you can just have a few hours at Sea World in a day and go back another time to see the rest, but if the park is closing early anyway, that would suggest that the two evening shows are not scheduled during your visit.

SeaWorld can definately be done in one day. Especially in the offseason.
