2 Day Park Hopper Pass for Conventions Only?

I've been looking at buying these tickets as well and had the same concerns about needing proof of attendance. Upon reading all the details though, per the Disney website, "The Walt Disney World® Resort offers exclusive Meeting/Convention tickets to attendees, their guests and family members." So, according to Disney themselves, you do not have to be an attendee to use these tickets if you are a family member or guest of an attendee. I figure if questioned, you can tell them you have another family member attending the convention that got the tickets for you and you should be fine.

I'm very probably going to get these - my sister is going to a convention, and we are all using that as an excuse to go to WDW for a week (Thanks, sis!). The thing I like best about these is that if you get the Hopper Plus passes, the plus is for DQ (1 day with 3's, but 4 DQ entries with a 4 - doesn't make a lot of sense, but whatever - I'm getting the 4's!). I'd much rather have a plus to send my teenagers to DQ than to PI, and water parks wear me out - I'd have to devote an entire day to one. So for long term, 'keep them because they don't ever expire and we can take the grandkids someday' use, the regular Park Hopper Plusses are fine, but for a short week trip, the convention passes will always be the way to go for us.

I am so excited about all this! I went to bed smiling last night thinking of all the money I'll be saving!! :o :)

Re: convention tickets - if anyone is worried about them asking which convention you are with - you can almost always find a trade show or convention going on during your time period with an internet search. We're going beginning of October and I found a conference/trade show on at that time. Registration was free, so I went ahead & registered as an attendee. So now I'm covered even if they check!

:)

I found the Orlando Home show open to public for our time. Will this work and since its open to the public anyone can go. Thanks

Thanks!

Everyone can use Fastpasses - you just put your ticket in, and get a fastpass out. It's a great system! And I don't think any tickets are exempt from using it.

Ok let me sit this up for you. We are going to be there(Pop) on Mon 9-20 till 9-23. Plan to go to parks 9-21 and 9-22.
There is a Orlando Home convention (open to public) on 9-24 and 9-25.
Would this work for me? I hate to get there and be turned away. Thanks for any help.

There are no public conventions during your dates??? Would you risk stating that you are with a specific convention? I wonder id Disney sends a list of names to these comapanies of those that have purchased passes under their convention name?

Do you have to pick these up Will Call or can they be mailed to you?

You can order the tickets to be delivered for $3.00 per order. They will arrive in 7-14 days, or you can do express delivery, which is more.

As far as whether the Home Show qualifies - I don't know. You could always call Disney, tell them you will be attending the home show & get their answer.

Also - regarding getting tickets the "legit" way - I don't have any problem with doing it this way. Frankly, by not selling two and three day Park Hoppers, Disney is trying to force people to spend more time at their Parks (as opposed to US or SeaWorld). I love WDW, but I'm not in favor of this particular business tactic. So if someone can find an "legitimate" conference or show to list, I say go for it!!

:smooth:

Just ordered my 4-day convention park hoppers today! I'll post when they arrive so I can describe what they look like, etc. The confirmation states they should arrive by 9/15/04 (I chose the $3 delivery).

I'm lucky to have a family member (DH) attending a conference, but I totally agree with ScotLady. I do not agree with the business tactics of Disney when it comes to their ticket offerings. Not everyone needs a 4-day (or greater) hopper, but why can't you "hop" 2 or 3 days instead of being restricted to just a 1-day/1-park pass? I think they should just do away with that 1-day/1-park thing.....I say let everyone hop!

As for the plus passes, not everyone wants to go to the water parks (that would be DH & I), but we do like DQ. I also like to be able to have all of my tickets in hand prior to arrival. As of now, DQ is not available for advance purchase via Disney Ticketing. Yes, I am aware of one particular Orlando-area ticket broker who can sell DQ tix at a SIGNIFICANT discount. However, they will not mail them to you, and I don't want to have to hunt these locations down just to pick up some tix. When I do drive, I use my mileage for other more exciting things than searching out a ticket broker's office!

OK- I first went to the WDW convention ticket site, there is a link at the beginning of this thread. I found out that the tickets there are much cheaper than going through a ticket agency. It asked for our dates of travel- I put them in and then it asks for the convention you are attending, I went to the convention center website and found a public convention going on a few days after we will be at WDW. I typed in the name of the convention and then it takes you to the "buy" page. I bought park hopper tickets. There are a multitude of different tickets- afternoon tickets, park hoppers, 1 days, etc. With a Park Hopper you also get PI or Disney Quest as an extra. I paid the extra $3 to have our tickets delivered by mail- walla they arrived a few days later, no questions, no problems. Easy! I was a little worried too, but I really could go to this convention so I figured there couldn't be any danger to buying them this way. Our tickets expire after so many days and must be used within 10 days of the first ticket's use. No problem there. Hope this helps!

i wasn't inpressed with the prices for the conventions. I got my tickets cheaper through hotwire and ticket mania. It may be a deal if you didn't want to do the water parks.

I'm not sure what ticket prices you are comparing from Ticketmania -- but the 5 day convention park-hopper-plus is significantly cheaper than the 5-day regular park-hopper-plus. The value is even greater with the realization that the convention PHP can be used for admission to DQ while the regular PHP isn't valid for that admission.

convention price for a 5 day hopper is 238 dollars, from hotwire they are 248 with two pluses. I already bought me disney quest tickets for 21 dollars each. Like i said, it doesn't work for me. It may work for someone else. I don't like that they expire after 10 days after the first use. Buying them the other way they don't expire. If that works for you, that is great.
But it doesn't work for our family.

also with the convention prices you can only go in the parks after 2 pm

Raggedy:

Actually, the after 2:00 p.m. ticket, while a convention ticket, is even a different offer available to conventioneers. The other PH passes offered are valid for the entire day. I agree that if you need the water park options, this is not a good deal. All I need is the 3 Day Park Hopper with PI option and this is a great deal for us. Cheapest by far. Thanks for all the great info.,

Mine arrived. Look like the regular 4-day hoppers I had in March, except on the back it states there are (4) visits to PI or DQ. Oh yeah. . and the whole spiel about using them before December 30, 2004, and they expire 10 days after the 1st use. (They fit ALL of that info on the back! I was impressed!) ;)

Now . . . just to get DH's pesky old conference over with so that we can all enjoy WDW together!:jester: (DH hates that I joke about this. . .he has a hard enough time convincing the folks at work that he "really IS working" the majority of the time he's in Florida!)

I didn't see anything for all day park hoppers.

:( and i already bought me tickets. How much were they?
