2 DAY countdown! Question thread - more questions added 02 Oct

I always wondered why the Starbucks was way cheaper than any other airport I have been to. That's great!

So I did in my knee by tripping on a curb and landing HARD. Fortunately it was on grass, but now my knee is all pretty colours. I'm hoping really hard it's going to be fine for the parks by Sunday. IF it's not, what's the routine to get a scooter/ecv for the parks?

If you looking to rent an ECV from DLR, you just go up to the ECV rental (located to the right of the ticket gates when facing DL) and rent one. It's $50 per day (plus a $20 deposit). They cannot be taken outside of the park areas (so you can take them in DL, DCA, and Esplanade, but they cannot be taken to DTD or the hotels).

There are also off-site/third-party rental sites, but I don't know which ones are good/reputable.

Good luck and I hope you knees heals quickly!

If you plan on getting one for your whole trip, definitely get one from an off-site vendor! Deckert's is the best (I have tried several and always go with them now). They will pick up and deliver to your hotel and it is much cheaper than $50 a day you will pay at Disney!

I'm about $1.26 away from getting my third Disney gift card but we're leaving on Sunday. Can I get it delivered to PPH and sign for it when I arrive? We're concierge level if that's any difference.

**Nevermind, you are already there...but was i close?**

Be prepared. When I did that same flight at 6am from Seattle there were only a couple spots open, and they weren't in the terminal where our flight was, all those were still closed. I found it better just to grab the alaska airlines fruit and cheese plate for $7 on the flight (card only).

For pressed pennies, you may find like I did that we didn't even come close to getting all of them. It just became a chore.

In and out isn't terribly expensive. Figure probably $7 max per person (that is high so if someone is a big eater you have extra).

Tips, I would say $10 for shuttle if with other people, $20 if solo. $10 for bell service. $5 for mousekeeping per day. Don't forget wait staff at any table service restaurants in the park.

Depends on how much beer, but with snacks beer, other beverages, water you are probably looking at $80.

Don't carry around all those quarters for the pressed pennies. They get heavy real fast! Maybe get one roll to start out with and then bring some cash. The CMs in the shops are super nice about changing bills for quarters. There are also change machines in the shop by Big Top Toys in DCA and in the Opera House in DL. My son and I filled our pressed penny book on our last trip. We made it a challenge and it was fun to have something to do when the lines were just too long. Hope you have a great time!

As angrose mentioned, there are change machines for quarters that take at least $5 and $1 bills for quarters. There is even a penny change machine near the crystal arcade on main street if you don't want to bring your own shiny pennies and take a chance on what it spits out. If you weren't aware, there is a 60th penny brochure with locations you can ask for at city hall, and a site parkpennies.com that does a good job of keeping track where all of the machines are at.

Thanks! I'm trying to figure out - are ALL the food carts and QS/TS restaurants in DLR/DCA charging tax on food? If so, what is it? 8%?

And do you tip at places like TikiHut? Hungry Bear? Earl of Sandwich? I know I tip at RBT and Steakhouse, but what about QS?

Everything gets taxed. Very few exceptions, don't think you will find any at DLR.

You don't tip at QS in the parks. At Starbucks or EoS if there is a tip jar I would drop something - I work for tips so I tip for pretty much everything ;)

Quick service don't require tips. Anywhere you are being served at it is customary based on level of service. 15% is typically the average and upwards from there if you see fit. If having a party of 6 or 8 ore more some places will automatically add 18% and it is noted in the reservation policies.

I checked online and it says Anaheim is 8%.

Is there tax with BBB, Pinocchio's Workshop and A&E Boutique?

Oops I must have been mistaken..it's been rising constantly in my neck of Northern California.

Everything is taxed typically as far as services go. Pinocchio's Workshop may be different - I would call (714) 635-2300 to inquire.

We're staying Concierge at PPH. Will there be water bottles available for us to take with us, or should we grab some at Costco/Walmart?
At both DLH and GCH (so I assume PPH is the same) bottles of water must be requested, the bottles are not in the self-serve refrigerators. The bottles are small.
It is very convenient to bring a case of water.
