2 credits at Hoop-Dee-Doo gets only Cat 2 or 3 seating?

Just saw something in the reviews for Hoop-Dee-Doo on wdwinfo.com that said the 2 credits you use only buy Category 2 or 3 seating, not 1. Is this true? I reserved Cat 1 online and need to call to use my DxDP (paid with credit card instead of just holding), but am concerned we'll lose that section, and am not crazy about spending 2 credits if we're not going to get great seats.

Anyone have any experience with this? And if we do have to do 2 or 3, is it still worth it?

Correct, only category 2&3 are valid for the dining plans. The seats are perfectly fine.

Just booked a cat 1 last night on dining plan. they only open the cat 1 for the last show of the night though which is 8:30 p.m. Hope that helps.

Hmmm... so which would you say is better, if both categories are available? Seems Cat 2, if you sit on the main floor behind all of the Cat 1 folks, might make for tough viewing for the little ones...?

Yes, but with my kids who usually are in bed before that show starts, 8:30 isn't ideal.

We had cat 2 seating last week and they sat us on the left side of the cat 1 seating. It wouldn't have been hard for little ones to see the stage from our table. Plus, the performers are on the ground level a lot.

We did Cat 3 a couple of years ago and it was perfect! We were on the second floor, next to the stage and had a great view plus the performers interacted with us a lot. DD also had more room to dance and jump around.

This year we are cat 2 only because we are going with another group that requested this cat - they have never been to the show at all but did not want to try cat 3 even with my rave review
