Hi, my in laws and my family will be staying at DVC in a 2 bedroom Villa, I am thinking that they would want to pay for their food in restaurants on their own but will prefer to use Magic bands for security measures. If both families are staying in the same room and I will be the principal can they link a credit card to their Magic Band + in anyway?

Yes, you can set up two accounts (or more) for different members of your group. You will need to stop at the front desk with the other credit card and designate who’s charges will go to that card. Then, when those Magic Bands are used to change back to the room account, they will go on their account, not yours.

Thank you!! Do they need a disney experience account? It is for my Mother and father in law and they don’t have an account. If needed I would need to create one for them.

I don’t believe so. My nephews were on my MDE account but don’t have their own MDE accounts and we put a different credit card down for them and it worked fine. They do have to be listed on the reservation and have their MB’s linked.

Perfect!!

Perfect!!
I’ve seen recommendations here that after the front desk sets up the separate CC, go to the gift shop and buy something. Then check the account to be sure the charge went to the right CC, so that if not, it can be fixed promptly instead of after several days of charges have gone to the wrong account.

I second testing it. Last trip we set up separate charging, but it did not work for 2 of us. It was a short trip and they fixed it at before we checked out, but it was a pain.

This is theoretically possible and it is supposed to work-- but I will tell you, with NO exaggeration-- my sister and I (with completely different first & last names) have done this on our last 10 trips together, and 7 of those 10 times, the charges were not assigned to the correct person! We've talked to several CMs about it, and they are always as baffled by it as we are. Set it up... but make sure to keep a close eye on it in case corrections are needed!

Make sure you test this - I ended up having all the charges on my credit card, instead of per the magic band. It's a lot easier to correct before you check out.
