Would you say that 2 adult couples would be comfortable sharing a studio? There's only 1 bathroom, right? And no separate bedroom? Would we be better off trying to rent a 1-bedroom place?

It depends on your comfort level. Personally, I'd go for the one bedroom, but if you'd be happy sharing a standard 2 bed hotel room, then go for the studio. I would recommend a studio at OKW since they have two real queen beds, and not a queen bed and full sleeper sofa like other DVC resorts. Yes, there is only one bathroom, but OKWs bathrooms are large.

If a one bedroom is a possibility then haw about two studios. Everyone even the best of friends needs a little space and then you would get two bathrooms.

Wilma-bride how close are you to this other couple ? personally I would not be comfortable. The beds are very close to each other. I would go for a 1 bed at least.

Comfortable, huh?

Well, I suppose it's possible, for example - if two sets of identical twins were to marry. They might be able to tolerate it. Or if both marriages were of the "open" variety. Might work then.

Regardless, if you document the trip with a few live cams and your own website, I'll pay to see it.

Way to close for comfort for boring older married couples....

get either 2 studios, or 2 all sports room with free dining....

or 1 bedroom with one couple getting the foldout couch.

I wouldn't do it, INHO, Goldi

Hi,

Our adult son doesn't want to share a studio with us, that's fine, and we get him his own studio if he joins us on any trips. I also would go with 2 studios for 2 couples over the 1 bedroom option.

I would go for 2 studios also rather than the 1 BR, and it would be the same cost points-wise. Space, privacy and 2 bathrooms would be better for the friendship, in my opinion.

We're taking another couple with us in Oct. for F & W and I've booked 2 studios. I just made a request with MS that the studios be on the same floor.
We're also thinking about our next "family" trip (two adult children, one 17 year old son, and a 5 yr old grandson) and leaning toward a 1 bdrm for DH and I, and two studios (1 for DD and DGS and 1 for two sons) That way we have the kitchen and w/d for everyone's use and they will each have a frig and micro for any midnight snacks, but, we ALL have our own space when we need it!!!!

I wouldn't get just one studio. Does anyone in the party snore? That could make things difficult/embarrassing for everyone. How neat/messy is the other couple? I would avoid all that by getting either a two bedroom(if you really want to impress them) or two studios. I am a neat person, and I am just crazy with undies lying on the floor, or stuff lying around, so even my own kids get their own studio now. I mean, can you really share a room with someone who brings a suitcase full of shoes with them?

Some good points raised there - thanks :)

We're not swingers :rotfl2: and one of the other couple does snore really badly (I had forgotten that little detail) so I think 2 studios will probably be the way to go. Are 2 studios really the same cost points-wise as a 1 bed?

Yes, pretty much. Click on "DVC Point Charts" at the top of this web page and you can review the points needed for your preferred resort and dates.

Good luck!

Yes...good choice with the 2 studios. :thumbsup2 Even if you are really comfortabe with each other...it's nice to have the space to have some alone-time!

Have a great trip! :sunny:

OKW would be the best for you, the studio have 2 beds.

We went the 2br route giving the other couple the studio section so that we both would have the kitchen/living room as a common room. We were able to have a room to discuss what we wanted to do each day and have breakfast together and then off to the parks.

That's probably the best option if you can afford it and don't mind the "togetherness" sharing a kitchen and livingroom mean. But its more expensive than two studios.

One of the big problems with a one bedroom for two adult couples is that, while everyone gets their own "room," one of those rooms is the pull out couch in the living room. My kids sleep on it for a week, and it isn't bad, but sometime in my 30s, hideabeds lost their charm.

I just stayed in a studio at BWV with my sister we are both early 30's. The sleeper sofa was the size of a full bed and was the most UNCOMFORTABLE sofa bed I ever slept on. Night 2 we shared the double bed I needed to sleep.
I don't know if all the studios are like that but this was my first experience with one.

I stayed in a one bedroom at BWV this past December and it was WONDERFUL. The girls slept on the sofa bed which was a queen size and SUPER comfortable. The master bed was King size. I would definitely recommend this if you can afford the extra money.

Snoring is a definite no-no in my sleeping habits also so I would definitely do the one bedroom or double studio. Enjoy the resorts are great.

All DVC studios should have a queen bed and full sleeper sofa, except OKW. At OKW all studios have 2 queen beds.
