:confused3I submitted my paperwork for one 270 point contract for BLT. Everyone here recommends splittiing in to 2 contracts. Settlement has not occured but I did receive my cruise cert and booked the cruise. Do I still have time to change to 2 contracts and if so what should I break the contracts in to? Should I use 2 different resorts? HELP!

Call your guide asap. iirc believe there's been recent posts that stated purchase was allowed to be split into more than one contract but the incentive received was still tied to total number of points bought. Hopefully others here will be along to fill you in on their experiences but I wouldn't delay in calling & speaking to guide directly. You're master contract I believe will still need to contain the minimum number of points required of first time purchaser (160 pts); then you may split 110 how you'd like but I'm not sure if all pts would still have to be BLT points (that may be case in order to still qualify for incentives but like I said I'm not certain about this)

Best wishes :goodvibes Post back if you can what you find out.

As long as your contract has not closed, you can ask that it be given in two separate contracts.

Many have said they were able to still get all the incentives that went along with the one large contract so I would not hesitate to mention to your guide that you are hearing that others are having it done.

I have also read that they are even letting new members split the 160 into smaller contracts at two different resorts.

I made changes several times to my contract before it closed and there was no issue whatsoever.

Good luck!!!

Forget it. My contract closed 3 weeks before they said it would so I can not make any changes.
Thanks for your comments!!

Oh, I'm so sorry that you weren't able to make the change!! I will tell you, though, that splitting the contract up into multiple contracts is only recommended for easier selling. Still, if you come to a point where you want to sell your DVC, a 270 point contract is also a very attractive contract to those with larger families. Either way, congratulations on your purchase...time to start planning your first DVC trip.
