2 contracts with different member numbers

I have a contract from previous relationship and now current relationship. Because of the order I did things, I got myself in a situation where I have 2 different member numbers and there is nothing I can do about it.

My question is, there is a big trip I would like to book, but it is going to require points from both contracts. Does anyone have experience with DVC being lenient with combing points from 2 contracts from different membership numbers. I will likely need to borrow from both contracts so I didn't know they make transfer exceptions of borrowed points when you are transferring to yourself.

Thanks for help!

Call MS and see what they say. I was told by a very knowledgeable CM that they will allow more then 1 transfer if you own both contracts and actually did 2 transfers for me. The other thing you can do is book a few nights with each contract to make your stay and have the reservations linked - the 1st option of transferring is the best option but you do have options. Good luck.

Without question, you can use points from both contracts (current, banked and borrowed) for a single trip. The question is whether MS will allow you transfer points from one (current, banked and borrowed) into the other is a good one. They will certainly allow the transfer of points from the current Use Year and the next Use Year (since that is the policy) - but banked points cannot be transferred.

Rather than worry about the specifics, you may just be pleasantly surprised to find that MS will be able to utilize all available points from both contracts to make the reservation you want. The best plan may be to call MS and let them assist.

Good luck! :)

The majority of my points are under one member number, but I have a second smaller contract with a different member number. When I wanted to reserve a GV at OKW, I had enough points to do it, but it required all my OKW points from both contracts, including borrowed points.

What I wound up doing was transferring enough current year points from the second contract to the first, plus borrowed points from the larger contract to book six nights. Then the last night was made using a few current year points plus borrowed points from the smaller contract. You can't transfer future year points and then borrow them.

When I added together all the current year points and the borrowed points from the larger contract and the select current year points from the smaller contract, it was enough to get six nights. But the only way to get seven nights would be to use borrowed points from the second contract. And you can use transferred borrowed points. Only transferred current points.

The CM making the reservation almost messed it all up because he transferred all the current year points from the smaller to the larger. If I had kept that, I wouldn't have had enough points in either contract to make the seventh night. A supervisor was able to reverse the transfer immediately and transfer only the ones I wanted transferred.

I had it all written out, which points would be used for which night and it took me a while to figure it all out.

So be careful with your transfer. You may need to do like I did and make a reservation using the other contract to get the remaining nights you need.

I have 2 membership number and I've frequently used contract points from each for one stay.

I would book part of the stay with one and book the remainder of the stay with the other. I would then ask them to link it.

However, you do have to be careful if you are following the 11 mth or 7 mths priority. Otherwise, there's no issues linking the reservations.

I have never transferred points from one membership to another because it becomes very tricky since my UY are also different and there are specifics with transferring that may cause an issue.
