2 Castles, 2 Send out 2011 & Ring in 2012...12 Days of Christmas

I am all caught up... I am so sorry I have been to Damien's school everyday this week so I haven't been able to catch up too much! I have jumped on facebook on my IPod while doing other things and that's about it!But anyway...
I love all of those movie nights! I can't believe that a guy set up one of those! You guys have AWESOME husbands! Maybe I can send mine to you for training:lmao:... no really! I am looking forward to the candy company and Starring rolls- I hear Ann talk about this and it makes me want to try it!
I hope that everyone had a good Halloween though! It's nice that they let you dress up in school--- we didn't get to!

Oooh I might have to make a return visit to Goofy's Candy Co. My niece has made it clear she wants to go to DTD since she's never been there. Maybe we can do it early in our trip so I can munch on whatever I get at GCC the rest of the week. I love the marshmallows dipped in dark chocolate with something on top - haven't decided what.

And I think I've heard about the gingerbread house but had forgotten about it. Being right next door to GF, we'll have to go check it out. Looks amazing!

I love the gingerbread house at the GF!! It's so pretty and impressive :thumbsup2

I have to agree...I can't wait to see it in person!

Did not say my husband did the movie night...mine runs and hides most movie nights! His cousin though is one of those dads who likes that kind of stuff...guess you have to when you have 4 daughters and no sons!

The only reason Joseph got to dress up was because it was the celebration for All Saints Day...only Kindergarten get to dress up to celebrate the mass.

Ab got to dress up only if she dressed up as someone with high moral character and write a paper explaining how the character showed great moral character...

That sounds yummy too...the older I get the more I find my taste changes...I used to hate Dark Chocolate and now I prefer it!

From the pictures the gingerbread house is a must in my book!

Tuesday's Trivia:
Minnie Mouse had a bird that appeared in 1 cartoon along with Figaro from Pinocchio. What was the bird's name? Can you name the cartoon for bonus points!

Frankie

Was the name of it Figaro and Frankie?

THIS is a link the video on youtube!
Figaro and Frankie (1947), It's about Figaro the kitten is annoyed by the chirpings of Frankie the canary. He knocks over Frankie's cage; Minnie thinks he's eaten Frankie and throws him out. But Frankie was only hiding, and flies out the window straight into the clutches of Butch the bulldog. Figaro wrestles with his conscience (literally), but ultimately saves Frankie and gets thanks from Minnie.

Just for extra points....
In private life, Mickey is married to Minnie. A lot of people have written to him asking this question, because sometimes he appears to be married to her in his films and other times still courting her. What it really amounts to is that Minnie is, for screen purposes, his leading lady. If the story calls for a romantic courtship, then Minnie is the girl; but when the story requires a married couple, then they appear as man and wife. In the studio we have decided that they are married really.
Minnie Mouse
Date of first appearance: November 18, 1928
First screen appearance: Steamboat Willie
Favorite Saying: Yoo-Hoo
Other Interesting Facts:

* The Disney Company named 1986 Minnie Mouse's year.---the year I was born:goodvibes!

* Minnie Mouse appeared in The Opry House, but only in a poster.

* She also appeared in The Dognapper. Here she appears only in the newspaper.
The comic strip story The Gleam by Merrill De Maris and Floyd Gottfredson first gave her full name as Minerva Mouse. "Minerva" has since been a recurring alias for her. Minnie also shares the same birthday as her boyfriend, Mickey Mouse.
In most appearances, Minnie is presented as a close friend of Daisy Duck. Her favorite hobbies are dancing, gardening, shopping, music, and fashion.
her father Marcus Mouse and her mother Margie Mouse, both farmers. The same story featured photographs of her grandparents Marshall Mouse and Matilda Mouse. Her best known relatives, however, remain her uncle Mortimer Mouse and her twin nieces, Millie and Melody Mouse, though most often a single niece, Melody, appears. In many appearances, Minnie is presented as the wife or girlfriend of Mickey Mouse, a close friend of Daisy Duck,[3] Donald Duck's wife (or girlfriend), and occasionally a friend to Clarabelle Cow. Minnie's sister, Mandie Mouse was a recurring character early on.

****There is not much on the bird but something I just learned while reading all of this is that Pluto is her dog:confused3 I thought that he was Mickey's this whole time! I guess that makes sense though because our puppy was mine and now that she barks and sleeps a lot she's my DH's:lmao:!

Thank you SOOOO much for that self-guided Yuletide tour!!! :worship:

I can't wait to check out the decorated resorts!
...and eat some gingerbread!

Oops, just realized it means many of my people will be pretty disappointed that I'll be in Florida that fall because I won't have much cookies baked :rotfl:

I am also planning on splitting up the World Showcase into 2 afternoons/nights...along with a little bonus time thanks to the CP on another day.

I have pretty much decided that I am not doing a lot of baking this year to share...I have lots of other things to get done in my spare time...sorry! I do have my jelly made...so at least they will get that!

My DH and I had so much fun with Kim Possible missions last September. They are NOT just for kids :)

52. Macy's Holiday Parade at USO

universal-parade-02.jpg

One of the things on my bucket list of life experiences is to attend the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York. I grew up looking forward to watching the parade every year on Thanksgiving...I have tried to get my children to sit down and watch the parade, but for some reason it just does not hold their attention like it did for me when I was their age. USO has a Macy type parade every night during the Christmas season...so in some small way I am getting to see the Macy Parade!

USO released information this week that during our stay the parade will be happening nightly starting at 8 pm....and they even have the giant balloons and Rocketttes!!!! Plus, Santa Claus is at the end!
