Guess what movie is in the que for movie night tonight?:rotfl:

Bonus Question: There are several hidden Mickey's in the movie...Can you describe them?

Jim encounters gypsy woman Madame Leota (Jennifer Tilly), whose head is encased in a crystal ball.

There are two Hidden Mickeys in the film. One is briefly seen when Ramsley pours the poison in the goblet of wine during the wedding, and the second appears upside down on the halberd that falls upon Jim

The ball scene leads the kids up to the attic.

The bar scene is a reference to the Enchanted Tiki Room. This was filmed in Rob Minkoff's home.

he scene where the key bearing corpse character who rises out of the coffin at the middle of the mausoleum was inspired by the corpse in the ride struggling to break out of the coffin and calling for help.

The raven in the ride also appears in the film. It was not actually a raven but had African origins.

The attraction's line "Welcome Foolish Mortals", which was said by the Ghost Host, is heard in the opening.

The portrait corridor and the staring busts along with the breathing door from the ride appear in the film. One of the portraits, the knight and his horse which morphs into skeletons makes a cameo.

The singing busts appear also with the song Grim Grinning Ghosts,

The three Hitchhiking Ghosts also appear in the film

The caretaker and his dog, who are the only living characters from the attraction appear in the film as ghosts.

Looks like you are the only one answering today...11 points (which puts you back in the lead)! We found 3 more hidden mickeys...the lock on the gate, the couch (although I would say it is a stretch, and right after ramsley pours the powder to make the poision. The kids had so much fun looking for the the hidden mickeys...I can't wait til I give them the book and along with the Hidden Magic book we hunt our way through the world!

Well, a little info regarding Flora...

Flora, voiced by Verna Felton, is the tallest fairy, dressed in a red gown (although she is obsessed with pink as opposed to blue), red hat, and a red cape clipped with a yellow square. She is not the oldest but is the leader of the group. She gave Aurora the gift of beauty.

zeppole.jpg

Zeppoles

Ab's favorite food is pizza and she actually picked this restaurant out in a round about sort of way...you know I have to be sneaky when planning and still getting input on what the kids would like to do. Then Vicki over in the December Facebook group kept going on and on about the dessert... zeppole di ricotta. I can't wait to see the pizza ovens... authentic wood-burning ovens named after the 3 active volcanoes in Italy—Mount Etna, Mount Vesuvius and Stromboli.

Jeff got banned from going with them to his truck. :rotfl: Guess 4 teenage girls did not want the dad around...I think his feelings were a little hurt as he thought they needed a protector! After the haunted corn maze, he was the hit of the adventure when he took them all out to the frozen yogurt bar and he paid!

This was Ab's first "haunted" experience and I think she was a little disappointed...she said it was lame. Up until now we have not let her do haunted houses...she wants to go on another haunted adventure tomorrow night to a local hanuted house that is ranked in the top 20 scariest haunted houses in the country...I am thinking NOT this year...besides tomorrow is all about Goo and trick or treating...not that, that is my favorite thing either!

On my first trip I really enjoyed watching the CMs make Mickey Caramel apples. Even more fun was watching customers design their own custom rice Krispe treats! I am hoping to save enough credits so the my 3 can add a few toppings and enjoy a special treat.

54. Gingerbread House at Grand Floridian (and other resort Christmas Displays)

To me the flavor of Christmas is Gingerbread, my favorite cookie! I am hoping that right after we check in on December 30th, while we make our way to breakfast at Chef's Mickeys we can stop in at the GF and check out their Gingerbread house (and buy a couple of shingles as a treat...of course I will be the only one eating them yay!)

From 2010 (disneytourist blog.com)- Expect to spend some time at the Grand Floridian. Depending upon your favorite “version” of Christmas (do you prefer the cozy charm of a rustic Northern Christmas or the elegance of a fancy Victorian Christmas?) the decorations at the Grand Floridian just might be your favorite on property. The highlight of the decorations here is unquestionably the life-sized gingerbread house. The gingerbread house is composed of staggering amounts of real ingredients, and takes months to prepare. Oh, and it doubles as a refreshment stand where you can order gingerbread shingles and other holiday treats. The gingerbread house is actually so cool that you might overlook some of the other awesome decorations at the Grand Floridian–don’t make this mistake. Explore the first couple of floors and the lobby, as beautiful flowers and other smaller decorations grace the resort. One thing you certainly won’t overlook is the massive Christmas tree on display in the lobby, the second of nine giant Christmas trees on property.
