Fantasia because of it being released in 1940 and the theaters couldn't handle the complicated sound system needed (Mostly because of the war).

Last year at her school they were allowed to wear crazy socks under their uniforms to express their individually...personally I thought it looked awful, and apparently the new dean of schools did too because this year they can't do that, so Ab has a drawer full of crazy socks. I know she is going to love the sock place in DTD that is all about mis-matched.

No refund, No airfare...frankly I did not have time to even bother with it yesterday...I had a full day of training, then got home in time to put dinner on the table and turn around and take Aaron to Middle School Youth Group and Abigail had Parent Schedule Night at her school (open house, where you go around following your child's schedule with the bells every 10 minutes and each teacher talks to the group of parents). When we got home it was nearly 9:30, and Jeff had just gotten in from the airport for his week long fishing trip...maybe I will find some time today...doubtful since I have training all day (no computer access) and then tonight we have Senior Night at the Volleyball games Ab is cheering and we usually go because it is a mini pep rally for the parents and I want to see her new cheer stunts they have been working on (did I mention she is the flier on her team )...tomorrow night is homecoming

I have to admit that the Jim Carrey verision is pretty scarey and some of the reports I have read from the breakfast he can be both charming and be REALLY in Grinch character. If the kids were any younger, I would probably skip the breakfast, but I know Ab will him...I am already planning on sneaking her Grinch socks and her Grinch shirt into the suitcases for her to wear that day.

A few weeks ago Boo and I watched Modern Marvels: Disney World on the History Channel, we were both amazed by the Tree of Life. Animal Kingdom has not been really high on my list of must do's at WDW...but that changed. I can't wait to see this tree both from a distance and up close. I have already packed a set of mini binoculars in my WDW tub just so we can take them to Animal Kingdom for a closer look. I can't wait to spend a little time exploring the trails around the Tree in search of different animals and great photos!

The Tree of Life sits on Disney Island, which at one time was originally the name of an 11 1/2 acre island on the southeast shore of Bay Lake near the Magic Kingdom where guests to get an up close look at free roaming birds, turtle, and small mammals. When Animal Kingdom first opened, Discovery Island in AK was called Safari Village...the park became popular and the first Discovery Island was closed and Safari Village was named Discovery Island.

The Tree is 145 feet tall/160 feet wide; l and has 325 carved animals within its trunk and branches. Did you know that there is ONLY 1 named animal on the entire tree...David, the chimpanzee. He is the last animal you will see as before you enter the turnstiles to go underground...He was named by Jane Goodall, chimpanzee researcher that Disney consulted when creating the animals. Guests can climb on his lap for a photo. Underneath the tree, the roots hold an attraction within its roots...It's Tough to be a Bug.

7:00 pm Dinner at Churrascaria on Citywalk
10:00 pm Bed...early day in line by 6:30 am for early entry into WWofHP

I went ahead and booked our departing flights this afternoon (even though I have not gotten the refund back, I switched some savings around to cover myself)...priceline had a price I was willing to pay...$400 more than our tickets that were cancelled ...but I was able to save $200 off of the price by booking in 2 lots...yep, I beat the system! When I put in for five tickets, it was costing my almost $1700, but when I put in 2 tickets the price was $500 and then 3 tickets was a little under $1000. There was enough seats open that I felt confident to split the tickets....then after the tickets were bought I went in and changed seat assignments so that we were altogether.

The good things about this new flight plan for departing:
1. Departs an hour later than our 1st flight booked...which makes for not such an early Christmas morning after a late mass the night before
2. Gets in only 1/2 hour later than our 1st flight booked
3. Only has 1 stop/1 plane change instead of 2 stops/2 plane changes
4. Flights are all on jet service
5. We route through Denver, so I am rethinking my reveal since I think Ab is on to my secret...

I loved this attraction...we had not planned to even bother with another "show" after doing Universal's shows prior to our WDW stay, but when I was getting fast passes for Peter Pan we received and additional fast pass for Mickey's Philharmonic! So of course we had to use it...can't let a fast pass go to waste and I am sure glad we did! I am not a big fan of Fantasia, and that is what I was expecting...not what was delivered. Who doesn't love to see Donald try to get out of the trouble he causes because of his jealously with Mickey? The music was the best part...all the snippets from your favorite Disney movies all woven together along with cast members from that movie to tell the story! Mickey's Philharmonic was fun, light hearted, and highly enjoyable (of course part of that was getting out of the heat with some AC and sitting down).

I found on another thread about someone wanting to make a little extra magic for their kids and actually take in little treasure chest jewels, and in that part when the jewels are falling they drop some in their child's lap...I have down on my packing list to get some jewels and do this for Goo!
