2 campers and 10 people on a site?

OK experts, here is my question............Can a 5th wheel and a pop-up, (small), be on the same site?
I think I have seen this done at FW before, but not sure.
We have been to the Fort many times, but the family is growing with marriages and births. DH and I would like to take the kids and grand kids to WDW in Dec. 08 when he returns from Iraq, but not sure how it will all work.
It will be DH and me, DS-12, DD and her DH, they will have thier 2 sons, 2yrs & 9 mos. And our other DD, her soon to be DH, and thier 10 mos old son.
Please give me your advice.

I have seen this happen in the past. Actually, I have been thinking about buying a pop up for my kids and putting them behind my fifth wheel. Not due to births and marriages, though. They are just making my fifth wheel look really used, really fast!

I would love to hear what other people think.

I know one camper plus a tent(s) are ok but a pop up is considered a second camping unit. Only one camping unit per site is allowed I believe.

I have seen sites with an enclosed trailer behind the camper.......when I peeked inside the trailer it had a couple bunk beds inside! That could be an option.

We have three bunks in our 5th wheel, the problem is privacy! 6 adults, a teen, a toddler and 2 infants is just to much for 1 camper. We would like to be all together, but have space too.
I know what you mean about the kids making the camper looked "used", we had just 3 children before the family grew, but what a mess they could make!

As far as I know they would consider that two campers and would not allow it on one site.

We have had tents behind our campers, but a pop-up would be too much (plus i'm not sure if you would even have room in a lot of the sites, although maybe now with the clearing of the trees). Also, as drafthorsecrazy mentioned, we also have seen people put up shelters behind their campers that had bunks in them.

We were there over the 4th of July weekend, and in our loop there was a TT and a Popup on the same site. Don’t think Dis cared that weekend because they let sites sit with 2-3 cars on them.

If you put your mind to it anything is possible. I think McFly from Back to the Future said that lol. Site 1011 was surely big enough. I think the site was 54' long. Dump your truck at the overflow and you could get two trailers in. I wouldn't push it more than a pop up. I mean what's the difference except it has wheels. Big deal. There's a certain someone on this forum who had a village on site 1715 this past summer.

I stayed in site 714 once. It was extremely long and narrow.

It had plenty of room for my 32' trailer and Dodge dually long-bed. I think you could fit. It would be a bit tight though.

I would consider getting 2 sites and linking them. I like having a bit of room when I am camping. JMO.

I'm not one for being rules police, far from it. However, Disney is the most liberal I've seen so far as far as number of folks per site and what is allowed on a site.

I really would like it to stay that way!!! I often have friends join me for my Fort Trips and being able to tell them, they can put up a tent on the same site as me, really helps give them an inexpensive trip (and saves me money on the campsite!!)

As we're starting to take the camper out to other places, we are seeing that most places only allow 1 camping unit per site, meaning 1 camper OR 1 tent.

The KOA in Starke/Gainesville, FL won't even allow free standing awnings or screen rooms on RV sites.

Ft. Wilderness is one of the highest rated campgrounds in the country even without stuffy "big rig" rules. As guests, it's our responsibility to help keep it that way

Back in the day we had a trailer (24 ft.), a large 2 room cabin tent and a small 2 person backpacking tent on a site in the 300 loop. We had two (sometimes three) adults and six kids in total. This was probably around 8 years ago. The adults and the toddler slept in the camper, DS in the small tent and the girls (4 of 'em) had 1/2 of the large tent. The other 1/2 was the clothes/camping junk closet. It was pretty tight, but we made it!

Okay, I can clarify this for everyone. 4mickey2 and us traveled down here together. They have a truck camper and we have a pop up. My brother in law said lets just ask if we can stay on the same sight. Mind you, we have two reservations. So, we get to check in and he asked. The answer is a clear NO. A camper and tents yes, but two campers of any kind is NO. Not a problem for us, as we had two reservations anyway. He just thouhgt they might let us because we only had one vehicle. I agree and I'm not even a camper (no RV, have to stay in a cabin ). I've seen so many things change at Disney over the years because people took advantage of the liberal policies. Pool hopping anyone?

I can't miss a chance to beat a dead horse,,or thread as it were. Our last trip we had some friends that were also camping. Since they were only going to be there two nites we thought about sharing a site. After some thought I told them that I didn't think we should risk it. Not because we thought we would be breaking rules ( a tent behind our 5er ) but because of room. That could put a damper on your trip if you show up and there is no room for the tent and the fort is booked. As it turned out, we didn't have enough room so it was a wise decision.I would have felt a small twinge of guilt about them not having a place to stay as me and DW climbed into the 38 footer for bed..

Well, I think you would be alright with a tent, we've put a tent behind the fifth wheel many a time without a room problem, but it also depends on your site. I know some sites would have been a much tighter fit, but most seemed to not have a problem.

And no worries, it's not breaking the rules to have a tent behind your 5er, a pop up though is a different story, that is considered another "camper".

Trust me, my "village" had waaaaay too many idiots! Actually, I do have 2 sites reserved for the summer. I am thinking about a really large tent behind my fifth wheel. Being in the 1700 loop, the sites are really large and it should not be a problem. I did see 2 class c's in one site in the 300 loop this past summer. I think if I stayed for a week it would not be a problem, but I stay all summer. Some of the cm's might have a problem with a fifth wheel and pop up.

I can't remember if you had installed the stackable washer and dryer behind the camper. By the way are you filing homestead exemption on site 1715 this year? I think you should at least give it a shot.

I read where we4mickey and her SIL currently have 1715 and 1716. I had 1715 right before you and that is a good site.

We were there 9/28 - 10/8 on site 101. On Friday 10/5 (I think) an RV with a TT in tow were on one site, still hooked to each other! So....if they are still attached...does that count as 1 camper???? Surely they pulled through the check in line like that.

We left on Monday 10/8, and those rigs were still there.
