we Have a group of 8 considering going to WDW in June 2022. 3 adults and 5 kids. Going to need a 2 BR villa. Will want to rent points so how hard is it to book these? When should I request thru one of the rental sites? Never planned for this many before so want to stay on top of things

It honestly depends on what resort, but if you have a strong preference DVC is always best booked 11 months in advance of check in.

June is not a tremendous demand period. Though it depends on the resort, there should be some 2BR availability at many resorts even 6 months before your trip.

But if you can book slightly longer than 7 months before the trip, you should have a great selection of 2 bedroom units. Availability magically disappears at exactly the 7 month mark, as DVC owners start to book outside their home resorts. Right before that mark, there tends to be good availability. (Though some specific resorts/units/times of year can book much faster, 11 months out).

I think we are wanting xXXx. I just wasn't sure how fast 2BR villas get taken. If we cant get that one, it sounds like we should be able to get something.

Edited out resort name as those details are not allowed.

Getting a 2 bedroom in June should not be an issue at one of the WDW resorts,

Near park resorts will go faster than those larger ones, So, depending on where you want to stay.....and I deleted that info as it could be seen as a request...makes a difference of when to search for an owner to rent a reservation from.

Just be sure you know all the terms and are comfortable with renting as this year has shown us that some things can happen not within ones control that make renting risky.

I know 2021 is an odd duck, but right now 2BRs for June are mostly open at Animal Kingdom and Boulder Ridge, but mostly sold-out at Beach Club and Boardwalk.

I suspect 2022 will be more in-demand, as so many people are hesitant to book travel to WDW until the pandemic starts to wind down.

That is pretty typical. You have the lock-off problem at BWV, and June is a fine time to be at BCV.

I am wondering how typical AKL is though. I mean, Kidani is HUGE but how much of that is also driven by the fact that the hotel side is closed, along with most of the restaurants and activities?

I'm looking at a 2BR in July, and leaning to BRV for that reason.

Summer really is a slower booking time for DVC and that isn't atypical even for AKV. I suspect what might be seen is that more people sway towards Kidani currently so Jambo remains available longer than usual.

AKV is often available at 7 months during DVC's lower demand season, which includes summer. Kidani is especially helped by having both lock-off and dedicated 2BR units.

Just a note. Make sure you don't respond to any private messages you get offering you points for your stay. That's a violation of the DIS Boards and should be reported to the moderators. That is the way people get scammed.

I have rented points for June before and contacted the rental company right before 11 months out. This has always worked for me. I have heard there is usually availability at 7 months out.
As previously mentioned, make sure you understand the terms of the rental agreement.
Best of luck!

I have been in 2br Villas at Kidani and Boardwalk, Kidani was our favorite, for the third bathroom, for the savanah view, for Sanaa, but it is really a long way to all the parks except Animal Kingdom.
