2 BR lock-off questions at BLT

Hi all,

We are arriving at BLT next week in a dedicated 2 BR MK view. We wanted a lock-off because we were travelling with my parents who have some health issues and wanted the option to cancel the studio if possible. Well, sure enough the parents have had to cancel, so it is just 3 of us in a 2 BR. I called to see if there was anything else available but no luck.

Is there any chance that at check-in we could be switched to a lock-off 2 BR instead of dedicated, and then just have the 1 BR? It would be nice to get a few points back, even if in a holding account, plus Disney could possibly rent out the studio. Is this even possible--does anybody have any advice for me?

If anything, we are just planning to keep the 2 BR.

From what I understand even if you had the lock off, if you've booked it as a 2br reservation, you can't just cancel the studio portion. The whole reservation would have to be cancelled and then you'd have to take what was available after that, which may be nothing if there were people on 1br and studio wait lists.
