2 BR & DS at CCV or 3 BR Grand Villa at OKW?

In October 2022, DH and I are taking our grown son and his family (DIL and 5-year-old), our teenage son, and our teenage niece down for a week at WDW. We own at CCV but do not have the points to get a grand villa there so I booked us a 2 bedroom and a deluxe studio for the week. For the same amount of points, and if availability allows, I can book a grand villa at OKW. I just need to decide which option to do. I love the idea of having the extra space at OKW but we really love CCV.

Thoughts?

Everyone wants those GVs at OKW due to their points. They are generally hard to get at 7 months in October.

I would not decide "oh GV" and get your hopes way up.

Honestly there's little to worry about deciding on. OKW GV's in Oct are not likely to happen for a 7 month booking then. They are very popular and that's in the most popular time of the year for DVC. There's always that .00001% chance of course.

Thank you for the feedback. A good friend of mine who owns at SSR has booked a 3br GVs at OKW several times in October with no problem (She's actually who first told me about them), so it will be interesting to see what availability will be like.

I think its nice to have space from your own family, myself. You can take the five year old to give your son a date night one night - but you can leave the parenting to the parents when you want. Especially with in laws - you may love each other dearly - but there are moments in raising children where every mother in law and daughter in law conflict and its nice to be able to retreat before your indulgence with the big sucker turns into tears and recriminations.

lol, my husband and I had an issue or two like that with his mom years ago. At the moment we're more worried about needing a break here and there from our niece than anything ; )

Maybe SHE can spend an evening "babysitting" while the adults go have a cocktail - and you get some space :)
