So far there is NOTHING for any dates in feb, march or april. I checked all the auctions, including the ready, set,go ones. We're looking for a 2 BR condo for March 1. Or 3 BR, I suppose, LOL! It's a budget trip so we want cheap!!

I'll make a cancellable backup somewhere, but we'd love to have a big condo for the price of a regular room :)

Check Skyauction every day. You may have to book very close to when you want to go. It seems the high speed auctions are the best deal. Also, if you know anyone who belongs to RCI they can book an escape week for you pretty cheap. (Not as cheap as Skyauction, but close.) Good luck! :)

I talked to the Skyauction people about it, and they said their system is updated in the middle of the night between Sunday and Monday, so if you want to find a room, your best bet is to check *very* early Monday morning (east coast time). They also said that the biggest release of inventory is two weeks before check-in.

Also note that you can bid on a Ready Set Go auction and win it without even knowing when you want to go. You can wait for weeks or months before making your reservation in their system, and they take care of it with no complaints. (I love Skyauction!) The only thing is that you have to pay for it, so you could end up spending $250 for the auction and still be forced to go with your emergency backup if you don't get what you want from the system. Given that you're going around spring break time, there's a higher risk that you won't find anything good than if you were going in the slow times like I do.

However, if you think you might be able to use a week sometime, somewhere and can afford to tie up $250, you can take your chances. Otherwise, you can follow the tips posted here, or look for a resale directly from an owner at the Timeshare Users Group classifieds (www.tug2.net). It won't be as cheap as Skyauction, but guaranteed to be cheaper than a hotel!

Have you checked www.vrbo.com? It's a great website with many condos and villas for rent (and you deal directly with the owners, making it cheaper than using a mgmt company). We had a positive experience using them for our trip in Nov. Worth a peek at least! Good luck.

I don't know if renting on TUG would be cheaper than a hotel. Not as long as there's Priceline, anyway :) There's only 2 adults & a 2 year old, who still sleeps in a crib. We just want to spread out, if we can.

I don't see a need to tie up the money for a ready set go auction now. They have them all time, and it seems like they are bid up higher now than I've seen in the past. We usually go in the off season, and it's easy to get deals then.

Thanks for the ideas!

Try the Sunterra Cypress Pointe Grand Villas or Sunterra Cypress Pointe. Go directly to their website. We recently stayed in a 3 bedroom/3bathroom Villa there. Good prices. The One bedroom Villa at the Grandvillas, that are part of the three bedroom villas, has a kitchen area, and a pull out sofa bed. If you just want to stay in a one bedroom villa, they separate the two villas. So you may have a one, two or three bedroom villa.
When we stayed at the old Villas last March, the one bedroom Villas did not have the kitchen area and the pull out sofa in the kitchen area. The new Villas are called The Grand Villas I believe. We went during the Christmas break and still got a good price and made reservations at a late date.
They are very close to Disney.

MAryJo, I've stayed there before, also in the new section. Do yo know the URL for the website you are talking about? Or the phone #? Thanks!

Try this Gillian:

According to this site....a 2 bdrm is only $79.00 for March.

My husband just told me he went through them, sorry for the mix-up.

The telephone # is 1-800-479-1406 to speak to an agent for reservations at:
Club Sunterra
At Cypress Pointe
8651 Treasure Cay Lane
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32836

The new section, I believe is called, The Grand Villas. I think that it is best to ask what each set of condos offer....we have found that they are different. I would double check on what each of the new and old Villas are called before making the reservations too.
