I talked to the Skyauction people about it, and they said their system is updated in the middle of the night between Sunday and Monday, so if you want to find a room, your best bet is to check *very* early Monday morning (east coast time). They also said that the biggest release of inventory is two weeks before check-in.
Also note that you can bid on a Ready Set Go auction and win it without even knowing when you want to go. You can wait for weeks or months before making your reservation in their system, and they take care of it with no complaints. (I love Skyauction!) The only thing is that you have to pay for it, so you could end up spending $250 for the auction and still be forced to go with your emergency backup if you don't get what you want from the system. Given that you're going around spring break time, there's a higher risk that you won't find anything good than if you were going in the slow times like I do.
However, if you think you might be able to use a week sometime, somewhere and can afford to tie up $250, you can take your chances. Otherwise, you can follow the tips posted here, or look for a resale directly from an owner at the Timeshare Users Group classifieds (
www.tug2.net). It won't be as cheap as Skyauction, but guaranteed to be cheaper than a hotel!
