An Interesting Item:

The 2 Billionth visitor to a Disney Park entered Disneyland yesterday (05/02). The visitor was a 12 year old girl from Colorado. She was given a lifetime pass to all 11 Disney Parks, a large key to the parks, and was the Grand Marshal of the parade that day!

What Luck! :thumbsup2

Any chance I could be the 3 billionth in about 3 weeks? :confused3 :mickeyjum

This happened to a former colleague and his family at MGM one year. Since it was the entire family I seem to recall that they selected the youngest child in the party to give the honor to. I can't remember what number of guest they were and it was back in the late 90s. I can still remember the phone call when he called to tell me about it. :cheer2:

I want a Recount! :rotfl2: I'm sure it was me back in April.

Really though, I wonder how they determined who/where the 2 billionth was. I mean with all the people going through gates into Disney parks simultaneously around the world, how can they be sure she was #2 billion? And I bet the guy in front of her that took too long at the bag check is HATIN' IT :rotfl2:

Not only did she get a lifetime pass to all 11 Disney parks worldwide, so did the rest of her family; mother, father, 5 sisters, 1 brother, and a baby on the way! All 10 of them have lifetime passes to all the parks. :bounce:

Bucky....Thats awesome...I hadn't heard that the whole family got passes. :thumbsup2

Druiser...We were having that same conversation at work yesterday...How would they figure that out...Has to be based on average daily attendance :confused3

Oh, they know. That is what those electronic cards are about, the electronic eyes that count you as you go on each ride etc. . . They have databases tracking EVERYTHING. My husband doesn't work for Disney, but he is a database man. This is possible. That being said, they must have decided to do it at Disneyland, because guests would be entering DL and WDW at exactly the same time. She might not have been exactly #2 billion, but, you know, with the time difference, if they wanted to get it right at opening for the biggest effect, they would have known they didn't reach it at WDW and had time to get it ready for DL.

I'm so glad that this honor went to a child! What a cool thing for that family to have!

I'm sure Walt would be pleased :thumbsup2

We thought about that too...but of course were not data bases in the 50s and 60s, and Disney did not start using ticket scanners until the late 80s...About the only thing that they would track for that long, with any valid accounting, would be ticket sales...Maybe the two billionth ticket sold :confused3

How fitting that it was a young child. I'm sure that it will be one of the highlights of her life! princess:

I think it's wonderful that a child was picked! I'm so happy for her and her family. :yay: :yay:
