I am curious about the 2 bedroom villas. I am planning an adults only trip next year and it was suggested to me to get a 2 bedroom villa for the 6-8 of us that there will be. Will it be more cost effective? Does anyone have pictures of them I can check out? Any info about them would be great as well! I have been to dvcfriends.com and seen layouts but nothing beats seeing peoples actual pics and hearing real stories! I'm also curious about why i should choose one resort over another (i.e. transportation, etc ) . Thanks soooooooooo much!

Hello Brooklynite! Another NYer here!
Sorry, I do not have any pictures, as I am planning on a 2 bedroom stay soon.

But I would check out Disney's DVC website for some nice pictures and point and click to zoom along the 2 bedrooms in the various rooms. http://dvc.disney.go.com/dvc/index

This website (www.wdwinfo.com) also has photos and descriptions in the Disney Vacation Club section.

Happy Planning!

We had a 2 bedroom villa @ SSR the last trip but we only has 4 adults so it was great. We did invite another couple and said that they could have the sleep sofa as we did not know if we would get a dedicated 2 bedroom or not, so they got their own place. The sleep sofa @ SSR is not like the normal pull out sleepers it kind of flips out and we never did find linens anywhere so check on that. All in all with 8 it might seem crowded but how much time you spend there is up to you.

In part it depends on sleeping arrangements. For many 2 BR units you'd have a King, Queen, pull out queen and pull out full. Change the pull out full to a second queen in some of the 2 BR units (you can find out which if you need to). You could get 3 studios for a few more dollars if you rent from a member but will give up the LR and full kitchen. If you will not have a car, that also limits the choice of resorts since SSR and OKW really lend themselves to having a car though they are doable without one.

I love the 2 br units. We actually purchased more points so that we can "afford" one yearly. We travel w/my Mom and our two kids. We've had a two br at BWV-the second br had a pull out. OKW (one of our home resorts) is even better as there were two full beds in the second br. I love OKW because the units are so spacious. My mom has an ECV w/her so it gives us more than enough room for her to store it. IMHO this is the only way to go!!!!:woohoo:

We've usually found linens and extra pillows on the top shelf of the master bedroom closet. You can see the pillows and an extra blanket; sometimes the sheets are under them and are kind of hidden from view.

The trunk in front of the sofa opens and the linens might also be in there, but I can't say we have ever found them there.

I'd think eight adults in a two bedroom would be crowded. Plus, there is the "negotion" issue. I'm imagining that you are talking about renting, since you don't have the information most owners would have (or know how to get) on hand, which creates more political issues.

You'll have one king bed in the Master Bedroom with access to a Jacuzzi tub. As owners, we lay dibs on this space when traveling with guests, but with everyone paying a fair share, who gets this space would be difficult to determine. You have one pullout sofabed in the living room - probably the least desireable spot - which would share the sink/toilet/shower area with the master bedroom - although the tub is a little more connected to the master bath than the living room - its definately the master bath's tub. You'd have a second bedroom with two queens - chances are good that one of the queens would be a pull out bed - a room two couples would need to share - and they would also share a standard hotel bathroom.

If you can figure out a fair way to divide this out without hurt feelings - and don't mind the crowd, a two bedroom could be nice.

If it were me, I'd make each couple make their own arrangements - holding the bag on DVC accomodations - especially for renters, but even for members - when someone backs out is a pain in the back end and has caused a lot of people hard feelings. If you make a two bedroom reservation for four couples and end up with two couples because two back out - you've spent more than you need to and are going to be stuck.

We had a 2BR in OKW in June 2005.

Master Bedroom had a huge bed, jacuzzi, seperate bath.

The other room was large and nice, but no jacuzzi tub, etc.
