We are currently booked at AoA and now my parents are looking to join us for part of our trip. I was looking into the option of maybe upgrading to a 2 bedroom villa instead. Is it possible to book those with different travel dates for different people. Such as if we book dining can theirs stop the day they leave and as far as park tickets can we book different number of days for diff people within the room? Hoping that makes sense.

No. Everyone has to have dining for length of stay. Same package even if they leave early or come late.

You can book me a split stay if you want to, but there will be rule around using the creidts you may not like.

If you want a dining plan, everyone in the room must be on it for the full length of time that you have booked your stay. It will not matter if some of the guests are arriving later or departing earlier. When booking thru Disney, it's possible to book a "ticketless dining package" which is essentially a dining + room package. You have to call to make the reservation and not all CMs will know what you're talking about. You cannot book it online. You can then purchase tickets for everyone separately and you can get just the number of days that you want on each person's ticket.

To get around paying for the dining plan for the dates when your parents are not going to be there, you could book a split stay. It can get complicated to keep track of the two reservations and you may have to switch rooms even if you have booked the same type of room at the same resort for both portions of the split.

You can book different packages and not pay for things twice. You did not say how long you are staying, if more than 7 days, I would tell you first to look at annual pass even for just one adult because the room discount can save you lots.

Say you are staying 7 nights the first four alone, the last three with parents.

You can book a package for your family at AoA, with dining and tickets. You can then add days to the tickets and not have to book a whole new package at say SSR 2 bedroom when parents come, saving you enough money to pay for food out of pocket.

SaY you do it the other way and parents come first, you would have there dining and yours, say they use some but not all, and you stay 3 days longer than they do, you would have those three days to use there credits also, so you could do lots of 2 credit restaraunts during those three days, like Cinderella royal table and such. Credits are booked but not to a specific person, but those using it would have to be in same chatagory, so a Disney adult which includes a child over 10, can use grandmas points, not a child. At able service, I guess quick service does not matter. We had a ton of left over credits one year and we used them for 2 credit restaurants. We went with a Disney college worker, and she had to work a lot but rule is we had to have her on dining so we did, with the extra we used them for hoop de doo, and mickeys Backyard BBQ, and such, the quick service we used to get some extra soup, or oatmeal for morning for the baby who was just under three and did not have a dining plan.

Hope that helps.

we are staying 6 nights - planning 5 park days. there is always a chance they may just wind up booking a stay off site at a hotel and meeting up with us. I'm still waiting for confirmation on how many days they are staying (the whole time we are or a shorter version) so just weighing what my best options or all options are at this point.

You have a lot of options!

If you want to stay at AoA, you could always keep your suite and book a standard Little Mermaid room for them. You wouldn't be in the same building, but you would be in the same resort so can access the same amenities (pool, etc.) and you can then differentiate the dates of the rooms and the package components.

If you want to upgrade to a 2-bedroom villa and your parents will only join you for part of the time, you could book the villa as a room-only, purchase tickets separately for the different lengths of tickets people need and then just pay out-of-pocket for you dining. Or, if you really want the dining plan and you still want different lengths of tickets, you can call and book a ticketless package. As PP's have noted, you may end up with extra credits by doing that, but if you plan your ADR's well, you can always use the credits.

Can the OP add her parents to the 2 bedroom AFTER check-in and not have to have them on the dining plan?
