Hi there,

I'm just beginning to plan our trip for NOvember, and ideally we want a 2-bedroom villa. When I go to the website, it is only showing WL as being available.

Are they really likely to be all booked up already? or will they likely release more closer to the date? We were hoping for BWV.

Remember, 90%+ of DVC room inventory is owned by the members and never shows up in Disney's reservation system, so there's always going to be a very limited number of villas available for cash reservations.

It's worth it to keep looking. There are a couple of situations that can cause member inventory to be made available to the general public. When members trade out of the DVC system, villas can be placed into the cash reservation to pay for the trade. Also, at 60 days out, inventory that hasn't yet been booked by members is sent to the cash reservation system.

That said, your travel dates are when the Food and Wine Festival is typically held, and that's peak season for DVC bookings. I would expect very little, if any, additional inventory to show up as available for cash reservations.

IF points inventory is released for cash bookings, it occurs 60 days out, not sooner. Frankly, for those dates, I wouldn't expect it to occur. It includes Veteran's Day. Inventory for those dates have been bookable since December and 2BRs at BWV are already gone. New points trades will not impact early November.

Odds on a cash booking for BWV that week are zero. If a DVC member cancels, there are tons of waitlists to fill.

When you say WL, do you mean Copper Creek or Boulder Ridge? Copper Creek might have inventory since only some has been sold to members there. So there should be a lot of builders inventory to rent out for cash. If you want a villa during that time, you probably need to book that Copper Creek villa now.

It was for Copper Creek.
Are you saying other resorts are all booked up already?

Not really . If there are Villas not occupied by DVC members using their points, they can be released for cash reservations but not until 60 days out.

And, really: There won't be villas released for that week for cash for all dates in that week. Just no. Not based on what early November looks like on RAT right now.

We're talking about two different inventory systems. If you're wanting a cash reservation through Disney, then yes, it's entirely possible that all of the deluxe villa resorts but Copper Creek are booked up for that period. As Deb & Bill said, the only reason Copper Creek has more availability is that DVC currently owns a significant percentage of the inventory there, it hasn't been fully sold to members yet.

If you're considering renting from a member, there might be other resorts available, as we haven't hit the 7-month window yet. BWV (and BCV, for that matter) are likely gone by this point. But I'd get on that now, if you are considering it. Again, it's peak season for DVC travel and members book ASAP.
