Our 11 mo. Window is coming up soon..
My sister is planning on joining us, but is not sure she will make it..

Can I book a 2 bedroom lock off and drop the studio, should she not be able to make it?

We should know a few months in advance. so no risk of losing points due to being within 30 days..

No, you would have to cancel the 2bdrm and book a 1 bedroom. Good luck.

But you have a much better chance of keeping the one bedroom section with it being a lockoff. Call Member Services when you need to as opposed to doing it online, they may be able to hold it while changing the reservation.

I don't know if it works that way. Revenue Accounting has in the past decided using booking/reservation algorithms how many studios, how many 1 bedrooms and how many 2 bedroom lock-offs to list in inventory. If they allowed people to book all of the studios in a lock-off, they would be stuck with to many 1 bedrooms.

I was not allowed to do this but last fall someone reported being able to do just that. So, I wouldn't assume it can happen but it won't hurt to ask.

We will be booking at the VGF.. :yay:
Would you recommend trying to get the studio and one bedroom or a two bedroom lock off
And see if I can drop the studio, if not the kids will just have there own studio!

Can it be done, Yes.

Will they do it, sometimes.

Truly depends on who answers the phone.

If you want to be sure to be able to drop the studio book them separately if you will not be upset if you are not allowed to drop the studio portion of the 2 bedroom lock-off and spending the extra points than you can book that but since we have only seen 1 report of it ever being allowed and a lot more reports of it not being allowed at all I would plan on booking as though it can not be done.

Or something .... Who knows. I suspect it has as much to do with being able to rebook it...Disney doesn't want the room to sit empty,

Sometimes, when I am not jiving with the CM on the other end, I have an "emergency" and have to go, will call back later...yada yada...so sorry, but thanks anyway...

I wait 5 minutes and then call back and get someone wonderful! :wizard:

I tried doing something like this a few years ago with AKV Jambo. I wanted to book a 1BR and a studio, the 1BR for us, and the studio for my brothers family. I ended up with a IBR which was part of a lock off, and a studio that was across the hall. I explained to the cast member what I was trying to do, but, the family in the studio attached to ours was already there. So, I ended up spending more points than I would have for the 2 BR. It was during the construction of Kidani, and so, my brother's studio didn't have a true savannna view, either. For some reason, Disney gave my brother a room charge credit on the room because of the construction. We weren't able to make use of the credit, because, we also had the old Disney Dining Experience, and all charges for meals were being made to our room.. We tried to get it transferred to the other room, but the front desk wouldn't do it. As the person who owned the points, I would have preferred a reduction in points for the non-savanna view room. So, sometimes, things don't work our as we would like.

I have in the past, though I don't think it's very common.
