I am planning a December 2009:santa: trip with my DSIS, DBIL, and 2 nieces and will be booking a 2 bedroom, maybe a dedicated 2 bedroom. I remember seeing a map with the location of the studios, 1 bedrooms, and 2 bedroom units. Since my nieces will still be young when we take the trip (4 and 18 months) she was interested in a first floor room. However, I have heard great things about the 2 bedroom layouts just off the elevator, room numbers 2519, 3519, 4519 and would love to see the difference in the configuration. I don't think that those 2 bedroom configuration have a first floor room as I think they are over Sturdy Branches. I also like the first floor layout as I feel I use the balcony more than I would on the upper floors. Thanks in advance for any info.

We just got back from the VWL, Nov. 14-21, 2008. Another couple and their son went with us- DH, DD-11, DS-14. WE LOVED OUR ROOMS!!! When you enter the Villas from Wilderness Lodge we had the ground floor rooms on the left of the building. We had 3 porches, which the kids loved. We had a one bedroom connected to a studio. We asked our friends and they wanted to have the couch that made our into the bed, and the small kitchen with a mini frige, coffee maker, and microwave. They loved it! We just kept the door open and closed it at night. ;)

We were in rooms 1503 & 1504. The pool was just outside our door, and around the corner of our porch. Now there are trees and bushes for privacy, which we liked! We were just a few steps from getting the bus in the morning. These rooms are a perfect location. I usually like to be higher, but I was very happy!!!

Now the problem with us...We are a family of 4 with an older boy and girl. They no longer will sleep together, SO.... We have the king sized bed for mom and dad, the couch bed for the son, and we take a twin air mattress for my daughter. Now sometimes we trade, but she didn't mind this time. I hate that you spend that much money and someone has to sleep on the floor, BUT...that's how it goes. Some of the new rooms at Bay Lake & AK have the chair that makes into a small bed. I hope they are nice!

Let me know if you have any questions. We loved the Villas! - being close to MK. Transportation was great by bus, or boat!

one year and 5519 (a one bedroom) another year. They were great rooms, right near the elevator. I don't have any pictures but the layout was great, the livingroom seemed bigger and there was a table for four instead of two. The kitchen may have been smaller with the washer /dryer in the kitchen. Also there was only one balcony off the living room which overlooked the pool and windows that you could see the lake from. You could try to request these rooms but they are not a guarantee.

Thanks so much for the info. I must say that I am really torn between the ground floor and the 2-5519 room configurations as I really did enjoy walking out on onto the patio as I felt I had so much more room than the balcony enclosure. As I am taking my DSIS, DBIL and two small nieces - I'm leaning for the ground floor. Any pictures of the layout of the hub 2 bedrooms (2-5519) would be appreciated as the larger layout may help me decide. Thanks.

Make your request for ground floor if that is what you want...NOT a specific unit. If you request a specific unit, and the group staying there doesn't happen to be vacating at that time, they have no way of know WHY you want that specific unit. Requesting a specific unit will usually get you disappoinment.

Thanks Diane - I think we'll be requesting ground floor as the 2 bedroom will be spacious enough for 5 adults and 2 small children so that I don't think I need the extra space of the larger layout.
