Hello

We may be renting points for the first time soon and I am wondering which hotel you feel has the best two bedroom villla, boardwalk or beach club. Any opinions are greatly appreciated.
TIA!

I think it depends on who is going with you and what you need. BCV have 3 different kinds of 2-bedrooms and if I remember correctly BWV only have lockoffs so the 2nd bedroom has 1 bed and 1 sofa bed in all 2 bedrooms

It is correct that the BWV two bedroom will be a lockoff. So one king bed in the master bedroom. One queen sleeper sofa in the living room. One queen bed in the second bedroom and one double sleeper sofa in the second bedroom. The second bedroom will also have an entrance from the corridor and a kitchenette.

If you want a dedicated two bedroom villa at BCV with two queen beds int he second bedroom, there are only 25 of them, so you have to book them at 11 months out. There are other dedicated two bedroom villas at BCV, but they have a queen sized bed and double sleeper sofa in the second bedroom, no kitchenette and no entrance from the corridor.

There are 3 different booking categories of 2 bedroom villas at BCV:

1. Lock-off. The second bedroom has 1 queen bed and 1 double sized sleep sofa. The second bedroom could be reserved as a studio. (As posted, all the 2 bedroom villas at the BWV are lock-offs)

2. Dedicated with 2 queen beds in the second bedroom.

3. Dedicated with 1 queen bed and 1 queen sleep sofa in the second bedroom.

Can I pick your brain for a sec? We are leaning toward BWV for the sole reason that 2nd bedroom studio/lock off, has a separate entrance. My dad is NOT a very good sleeper and gets up often in the middle of night and he could take a walk, head to the smoker's lounge, whatever without bothering my family in the 1 bedroom area. Is the queen sleeper in the 1 bedroom comfortable? That's where DD will sleep and I will likely end up with her out there if DH is snoring :goodvibes.

Also, how is parking at BWV? We plan to rent a car for the first time this trip. Is it a LONG walk from lot to room?

Are the BWVs a long way from food options? Sadly, I've never even visited this area of WDW.

Now with regard to BCV, I assume that each bedroom in the dedicated 2BR will have it's own door, so the rooms will be "off" the living area. We could put my parents in the King room and we could take the 2 Queen rooms.

Hmmmm, decisions, decisions.

I'm trying to make a pro & con list between BWV, BCV and the Dolphin (going the week after Thanksgiving 2013).

You can also get a lock-off 2 bedroom at BCV that would have the separate entrance to the hallway. We prefer BCV, but have stayed at BWV many, many times. The parking lot at BWV is a long walk from the villas unless you pay for valet - the valet parking spots are the closest. Yes, the hallways at BWV are long, but they are also long at other DVC resorts - long hallways don't bother us a bit.

On a side note, if you are trying to rent points for next Thanksgiving, you need to have either a BWV or BCV owner ready to book at the 11 month window. Thanksgiving week is a very popular time for DVC, and you are trying to book at 2 of the most popular resorts.

we alawys rent a car at the BWVs. they have gotten much more restrictive with non-resort guests parking in the resort guest lot, and we have not had a problem getting a close spot in the last couple of years (including during the F&GF and the F&WF). it is about a 2 minute walk to the lobby from any spot we parked in the lot (see my sig - yes, i timed it:)). if you have groceries and/or someone who has walking difficulties, you can valet, or simply park in the circle by the lobby and drop the person off, then park the car in the lot.
there are also 3 different views at the BWVs:
- standard view, which costs the least points, and has views of the driveway.
- preferred pool/garden view, which is exactly as it is called. this view makes up about 80% of the resort.
- preferred BoardWalk view, which again, is as named (we absolutely LOVE BW view - it is an incredible experience:cloud9:). BCV does not have seperate view categories (the resort is known for its pool, not views).

standard and BW views comprise about 20% each of the resort, go very quickly, and are only availble for booking on points. P/G and BW view villas cost the same amount of points.
there are lots of food options including the bakery, ESPN, big river grille, flying fish, kouzzinas (with pizza window), various food kiosks. also, both BC and EPCOT are a short walk away with their many eateries. BW also has adult offerings, including an indoor lounge, jelly rolls (dueling piano bar), atlantic dance hall. there are carny games and street performers on the BW in the evening.
both resorts are easy walks to EPCOT and DHS (or ride a friendship).
the dolphin can be less expensive, just do remember that you cannot get DME or DDP, and there are parking and room fees. if you can get a great price, it is in a fabulous location, and they are known for their heavenly beds (no DVC there tho).
hth:)
