We are a group of 8 adults and a 2 year old for the first 4 nights, then will be 7 adults and a 2 year old for 3 nights. Currently we have 3 rooms booked at CBR but with one having to leave mid trip I am looking at options. Hubby and I will have a king room, our son, dtr in law, 2 year old, her mom and her great aunt will be in a room, and dtr in laws sister and hubby in a room. When the sister's hubby leaves she will not want to stay in a room by herself so for the last 3 nights it will be 5 adults and a 2 year old in one room at CBR! I am looking at renting points to stay in a 2 bedroom, I know depends on availability and if the couple would be willing to take the sofa sleeper in the living room.
I love BCV! I love the look, pool, food options etc. But BLT has 3 bathrooms and the sleeper chair (in case the sister would sleep there instead of the couch after her hubby leaves. BLT just doesnt appeal to me, especially the pool areas (from what I have seen). We do plan to spend arrival day at the resort, take a break every day, and not leave the resort til afternoon in the middle of the stay.
What advice or experiences can you share with me? Any photos of BLT pools that will make me like it better, especially areas for the 2 year old to play. I appreciate any input!

I’m recently back from a BLT 2 bedroom stay on rented points and absolutely loved it. We were 4 adults and 2 kids so no one had to sleep in the living room but the 3 bathrooms are definitely a bonus for getting ready. Also there seemed to be decent storage in the living room if you needed an extra space for clothes and there was a closet in the hall that could be used for whoever sleeps in the living room. We were on the dining plan but had breakfast everyday in the room with the exception of one morning when we had a BOG ADR.

If you are planning to spend a lot of time in MK the resort cannot be beat for location. Its so easy to walk there and back.

The resort does not have an in your face theme but I was okay with that. There are hidden mickeys everywhere. I also loved that it is very compact and not a whole lot of walking, especially after being in the parks. It’s also really convenient to the Contemporary.

We did a pool break 4 out of 6 days in the afternoons. The menu at the pool is limited but not a deal breaker for me. It has a small splash area and a very small slide that would be ideal for a small child. There’s also a bigger slide for more adventurous kids. The pool is not huge but it made it easy to keep an eye on my kids if I wasn’t in the pool. Also there were activities at the pool everyday geared for both adults and children.

If you decide on BLT ask for an even numbered room. I believe they are slightly larger and if you are lucky enough to be on the north end you may end up with MK views. If you are on the south end you get a view of the contemporary and possibly Epcot fireworks.

Happy planning!

We are just back from a 2 BR Villa at the BCVs . It is our home resort and we love it there. We were 4 adults and enjoyed it very much. Our 2 BR officially slept 8. 2 in Master King, and 2 in each of 2 Queens in second BR. and 2 on Queen sleeper in LR. A Lock off would sleep 9.
There is NO WAY I would sleep 8 adults and a 2 year old in a 2 BR Villa. NONE. I would rather stay home.
There is no where to sit during the day. The couch would sit 3, there is 1 chair and 2 chairs at the counter in the kitchen. 4 could sit to eat. In my opinion it would be horrible and again, even with my love for Disney I would stay home until I could make different reservations.
Sorry

I agree with Hopefully. I wouldn't put eight adults plus a two year old in a two bedroom villa. I'd get a two bedroom villa plus a studio. You might like BCV better than BLT, but six adults plus one two year old sharing one bathroom would be hell. I'd keep the three bedrooms at CBR for the entire stay. For the last night the DIL's sister plus mom and great aunt could share the third room leaving son and DIL, plus the two year old in the second hotel room. They will all appreciate the solitary of their own room from time to time. I'd actually probably get four rooms at CBR so the mom and great aunt could have their own room as well.

I would pick BLT over BCV based on bathrooms alone.

Plus I don't know your time line, but we were "lucky" enough to have front row seats for the construction zone at BCV two weeks ago. We were on the first floor. We had the patio, a few bushes, a 4 foot walkway and then construction. No way we could even open the door to use the patio with 3 kids under 5 in our group. I had no idea of the construction.

I wouldn't consider 5 adults and a 2 year old in a single CBR room for a minute! In your situation I would book at least the three bedrooms for the full stay at CBR. Perhaps sister could stay with her Mom and great Aunt when DH leaves. Your Son and DIL would stay in their own room then for the last nights.

Three rooms at CBR at 340 sq ft each gives 1020 sq ft total. (three bathrooms)
The Bay Lake tower two bedroom is ~1155 sq ft (three bathrooms)
BCV 2 bedroom is 1083 sq ft (two bathrooms)

We had eight (4 adults and 4 children) in the two bedroom in BLT and it was great. Dh and I had an additional studio, because there were 10 of us. (maximum of 9 allowed in a 2 bedroom).

I agree that 8 adults would be tight in a 2 bedroom. If possible, I would book an additional studio until the sister's DH left. Personally, I would choose BLT over BCV.
