I had a reservation at BCV for Jun of next year for a 2 BR with 2 queens in the second bedroom. Today I called to change my reservation to a 2 BR dedicated since we would really like to request a first floor room and there are no rooms with 2 QU in the second BR on the 1st floor (I know requests are only requests) The new reservation says " 2 BR with a queen bed and sleeper sofa in the 2nd BR" My question is, could I possibly get a lock-off since the reservation doesn't specifically say "dedicated"? MS assured me it wouldn't be a lock-off. Does anyone know if this is how the reservation should read?
Thanks
Tina

A dedicated two bedroom will have two queens in the second bedroom. A lock off will have one queen and a full sleep sofa with a mini kitchen and separate door entrance.

Perhaps there are no dedicated two bedrooms on the first floor - that I do not know.

It was my understanding that at BCV there was 3 booking catagories for 2 BR villas. 2 queens, dedicated (queen & sleeper sofa) and lock off. When looking at the parkinfo2go map, some of the second BR's have the 2 queens and some do not. I hope I didn't make a mistake because I really DON"T want a lock-off:scared1:

There are dedicated 2 BRs @ BCV with a sofa bed / queen in the 2nd BR.

Vicki, do you know how the reservation on the DVC website should read?
Thanks,
Tina

We were in a dedicated 2 bedroom on the first floor last week (room 134). It had a queen and sofa bed in the second bedroom. Here is what it shows on the website:

2BR/1Qn&1Sofabed in 2ndBR

This particular room was very spacious compared to other 2 bedrooms we've stayed in at Beach Club. The second bedroom was huge!

I did not know the answer but I think TigerFan probably helped. We got that room as a free upgrade from a CASH studio reservation - it was amazing! We couldn't get a points room for our last few nights (it was New Year's) so booked a studio to save $$, but we got a 2 BR as an upgrade.

I'm not 100% positive but I believe that is the wording for the dedicated 2 bedroom with queen bed and queen sleeper sofa. I believe the lock-off uses the word 'lock-off' in the description. And yes you are right there are no dedicateds with 2 queens on the first floor. They are rooms designed with no balcony/patio door in the second bedroom. Mostly on the ends and junctions of the building with none on the first floor.

Yes I was going to post this also. We have stayed in a 2 bedroom at BCV 3 years in a row. We have had a dedicated 2 bedroom every stay. Once we had the 2 Q beds and the other 2 times we had a Q and sleep sofa in the second bedroom. Those were not lockoffs and were dedicated as we have always had the extra large vaniety where the kitchenette would be.

Learn something new every day - did not know that BCV had 3 booking categories - guaranteed 2Q two bedroom and guaranteed 1Q/sleep sofa two bedroom as well as just two bedroom lockoff.

BTW, the sleep sofa in the second bedroom, is a Full not a Queen. The living room will have a queen sleeper, however. Definitely makes a difference if someone is using the room with the queen bed and sleeper for 4 adults..

I guess it is.....but actually it appeared to look just like the one in the living room. I dunno cause I didn't sleep on it. Last year we stuck my 15 yo grandson and his two BFFs (both 15) in that section of the unit because we thought it would be easier to close off the mess. :scared1:

It is my understanding is that the sleeper sofa in the dedicated 2 bedroom is a queen sofa in the second bedroom. All other 2 bedroom lock-offs would have a full sized sleeper sofa in the second bedroom. I could be wrong since we have actually never had one of these units.

Since BCV was our first home resorts I collected all the info I could about the resort. I was on a quest a number of years ago to identify the location of all the dedicated 2 bedrooms w/2 queen beds. That list eventually made it to DisZip's website. (I believe there are two more rooms that are not yet noted on the floor plans).

There are three booking types...
~25 Dedicated 2 bedrooms with 2 queen beds in the second bedroom
~53 Dedicated 2 bedroom with queen bed and sleeper sofa in the second bedroom (78 total Dedicated 2 bedrooms)
74 Lock-off 2 bedroom

Word-on-the-boards has it that the division of the two bedrooms was due the the miscalculation of the size of the 2 dedicated units (fire code?) and there could not put in 2 queen beds in the second bedroom of those with balcony/patio doors.

Okay, so I'm completely confused. never stayed at the Beach Club. My reservation says: 2BR/1Qn&1Sofabed in 2ndBR . So does this mean one bedroom has a King Bed and the other bedroom has 1 Queen bed and one sofa bed? What does the TV area have? We are going with my parents and three kids. Wondering if I made a mistake or if I should ask to waitlist for something different. Sorry I can't seem to understand.

Thanks to everyone who responded!:thumbsup2 I feel much better now. This will be our first time in a 2 BR. We are REALLY looking forward to it!

Thanks AUTigerFan,
Thats exactly how our reservation is worded. I was under the impression that room 134 and 154 seemed cramped or awkward with the way you get into the second BR. Good to know that you liked it. Maybe it was the upper floors 234, 254,334,354 etc that were cramped. Did it seem like the second BR had privacy?

Lisa,
I'm like you....needing to know every little detail about my beloved resort. Thanks for putting it all together.:worship:

YES!

What does the TV area have?
A Queen Sofa Sleeper The dedicated 2 bedroom will be the same as any other 2 bedroom dedicated except that one of the queens in the second bedroom will be in the form of a sleeper sofa instead of a real bed.

We are going with my parents and three kids. Wondering if I made a mistake or if I should ask to waitlist for something different. Sorry I can't seem to understand.
I think you will be fine. There are still two real beds (King and Queen) which is what you would have slept in anyway. One for you and one for your parents. The kids can have the sleepers.

And I was in 334 a few floors up from 134 and it wasn't cramped at all. The 2nd BR seemed absolutely humongous with the bed and the sofa bed in it, and no kitchenette. I can't speak to the other rooms, but 334 you entered the 2nd bedroom from the back of the living room area, behind the TV cabinet - or between the TV cabinet and the sliding door in the living room. That was the best room we ever had @ Disney.

Interestingly though - there was a comment earlier about the firecodes / design issues causing the queen bed / sofa bed configuration and it was mentioned about the balconies possibly being the reason. 334 did not have a balcony off the 2nd BR, our balconies were off the living room and the master. Other people tried to tell me that wasn't correct once, but it was - I was there and have the photos!

Here's some photos from 334, mainly of the 2nd BR because I have other pix of the 1 BRs and it looks the same.
