2 bedroom at AKL or 2 studios at Poly?

Just wanted to add that December is an exceptionally busy time for DVC, due to low points required, so you'll want to get ready to rent points as soon as rooms are available (at 11 months before). It's a very, very busy time for DVC.
PS. We do love Kidani, but not everyone does. And the hallway can seem very long and far from the bus stop, but parking under the building can end up being relatively close to an elevator. There's some real advantages to each of those two resorts. Hope you have a great trip!

Hi all. Looking for some advice about rooms. Were going to rent points for December 2022 and I'm back and forth about resorts. Well be a party of 7, my mother, her service dog, my husband, myself and our 4 children(no infants), my mother will have a scooter and I may need one but not planning on it at the moment. I've narrowed it down to either a 2 bedroom savannah villa at kidani village or 2 standard studios at the poly, but I cannot decided on which would be better. The 2 bedroom would give us more room, and a full kitchen, along with an amazing view on the balcony, but the 2 standards would save us roughly 1k, along with monorail access and the fireworks view from the beach. I do see a potential downside at poly with the distance from the dvc rooms to the lobby, I have a autonomic dysfunction disorder that sometimes makes long walks difficult for me and I was hoping for a room very close to the lobby/busses, or are the rooms closer then they seem on the map? I also worry about fitting a scooter in the studios. Any advice either way is appreciated.
Request a Poly room closest to the Transportation Center if you decide to go that route. "Far rooms" are closer to TTC then the front lobby of Poly and that area has just been redone and is easy to navigate with scooters. If you stay at the Poly you can easily get to the Grand and then to Magic Kingdom on a scooter. I walk it all the time.

We love love love AKV at Jambo. Not a fan of Kidani though because of the exceptionally long hallways. If you can get Jambo, the benefits over Kidani are that you have the Mara quick service restaurant, plus the Boma and Jiko. The marketplace is larger and the bus waiting area is nicer. If you stay at Jambo, request the Arusha Savana View near an elevator.

That's a tough decision, we love both resorts. I see pros/cons for both. I LOVE AKL Kidani: the extra bathroom is great (the tub is incredible), and the savannah views are so special and awesome. I would definitely request close to lobby, as one time we were at the VERY top end of the resort, and it's quite a walk at the end of a long day. Only con I have for AKL is that you'll needed busses for all parks. It's a convenient, very short ride to AK, but the others can take awhile. Oh, but the animal viewing. so cool! (but you could always just ride over to the resort one day and animal watch...)
Poly: love that resort too, the location, the vibe, and love being able to get to the TTC to take the monorails to MK or Epcot, no bus needed for those. BUT , we are not studio people. The only studios we've ever stayed at were at poly...since that's all they have. So it's hard for us to give up the full kitchen and in room washer/dryer, and the space. I did use the laundry room once at Poly, w no issues. It would be easier to get scooter on monorail than bus all the time I would think,. So convenient to the MK.
Hard choices for sure!!! Both have pros/cons, but both great resorts!
