Can anyone recommend a 2 bedroom suite close to disney, preferably downtown disney area.

There would be 2 adults and 3 children in the room the kids are aged 8, 10 & 12

They would be visiting in early January.

Thanks in advance

Paul

If you were willing to go on the other side of disney (but still within 3 miles), you could get a 2 bedroom at Windsor Palms for around $60/night.

Sheraton's Vistana Resort - there are alot of post here on it - is within 1 mile of DD.

I'll second the recommendation for Windsor Palms.

Another good option is SkyAuction. We're renting a 2-bed unit in November for $37/nite thru them.

If you prefer a hotel setting, how about Residence Inn Lake Buena Vista. It is a fairly new property, nice pool, not far from Disney property.

...you do know about the DVC resorts - they are on property and you can rent from an owner - probably close to the same price for Doubletree?

Not quite. We stayed at the Doubletree for $66/night a little over a year ago.

You'd have to get a two bedroom at a DVC resort and you are going to pay much more than $66/night even with renting points.

you did great - I haven't seen the doubletree for anything close to that price!!!

where do you get that price????

Thanks for the respones about DVC, I am a DVC member but I don't think they want to spent that much money.

They want to spend the whole week in one place, so will have to pay the weekend points cost, this will mean it will be 270 points for Beach Club and 218 points for Old Key West.

At approx $12/point for beach club this will cost $3240 or $462/night

I'll give him all your other suggestions to see what he wants to do

Thanks

Paul

They could also check out Cypress Pointe and the Cypress Pointe Grand Villas, located in the Lake Buena Vista area, right around the corner from DTD. They have 2 and 3 bdrm units that would accomodate a family that size, and are usually available on hotelkingdom.com for a pretty reasonable cost. You might even be able to get a week there via Skyauction. Good luck!

We got that through Hilton Honors program. They had a special last summer.

I second using Hotelkingdom.com and see what it costs for Cypress Point Grand Villas. It was very nice, and close to Downtown Disney.
