I honestly cannot decide which of the pros and cons give the edge to either resort? We are a party of 7 - myself and DH with DH’s brother and young family (kids are 13, 11 and 6). We go all the time but they do not and we want to make this trip super special and Christmas-y for them.
We’ve stayed in a 2 bdrm at CCV before but have never stayed at RR - only visited to dine.
Pros for RR, in my opinion, include the Skyliner, the size and beautiful decor of the Villa and the pull down bed (the kids probably won’t complain either way but I know they’re more comfy than those sofa beds).
Pros for CCV of course include being the most Christmas resort possible, the more varied dining options within the resort, the boat rides to MK and for me, the bubble tub 🤓 in the master - the pools seem like they look more fun too but it WILL be December and all…
My husband is zero help as he never remembers the details of the rooms or resorts and he really couldn’t care less where we stay 🤷🏼‍♀️.
I currently have 6 of 7 nights secured at CCV the second week of December (the first night will be at SSR with CCV being waitlisted.
The only reason I’m considering a switch is that RR keeps coming available for at least 5 of the 7 nights and I’m tempted each time I see it. It would probably mean 2 nights at SSR first and 5 nights at RR but I’d wait list those too.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Forgot to add that the RR Villa would be Standard view and we have enough points right now to swing either resort because I’ve borrowed every point from 2024 already just for this trip. I don’t mind spending the points but I also hate to waste points on a room that isn’t worth it.

RIV is tops for me in terms of choice and I love the size of it all.

But, it is hard to argue against CCV at Xmas time, especially if you have kids and MK will be a big part of your trip.

If it were me, I’d end up doing a split stay it I don’t mind those!

Oh me too, absolutely! Sadly, it seems that only the same dates keep coming available for both resorts for my dates in December - I check multiple times a day!

It would have to be CCV for me in December…

CCV! We have stayed there the last two years in Dec. and it is my favorite resort for that time. One thing that is fun to do is take the quick bus ride over to Fort Wilderness. We did the carriage ride, my kids played on the playground for 2 hours,(met a bunch of kids and played together until we dragged them away) grabbed a quick dinner at the take out place and watched the fireworks from the beach area.

I love the decor, dining options, rooms, etc. The Xmas theming can’t be beat. The Riviera does have very pretty rooms and the skyliner but at Xmas time those don’t beat CCV for me.
