Good afternoon,

DH and I are working on our schedule for our next trip. And so far, after an ADR for dinner, we have nothing to do on a saturday night.

Challenge: we are not into bars/clubs and we would like to avoid the full cost of theme parks (unfortunately, there is no MVMCP on that night... Sigh!) ... and DH doesn't like musical revues... And we are already visiting Downtown Disney on the next day.

Anything left for us? Any ideas? :confused3

There so many fun things for couples to do both in and outside the parks! Have you considered strolling Boardwalk? They have various street acts that are there to entertain free of charge. My parents really enjoyed taking the boat from Port Orleans Riverside to Downtown Disney. I know you said that you are going to Downtown Disney the next day, but you could just ride the boat and take in the scenery. My husband loves to ride the monorail, especially the Epcot one as it goes through Future World. You could also consider resort exploring. Wilderness Lodge has some from trail, Animal Kingdom Lodge has so much to take in, and Caribbean Beach is so large and well themed that it could feel like your own Caribbean escape right in the heart of Walt Disney World. You also might consider miniature golf at Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland, if you and your husband do enjoy those types of things. For something pretty romantic, maybe consider a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness or Port Orleans Riverside. And, along those lines, you mentioned no MVMCP so I'm assuming you are going around then. They have holiday sleigh rides at Fort Wilderness during that time of year, as well. You will get to see all of the Christmas lights and decorations around the resort that way.

Holiday sleigh rides at Port Orleans ... That is interesting. I'll check for it.

We are dining at Boma, by the way. (We've been staying at AKL before and we loved it) EDIT: OOOPSSSSS!!!! Just read Boma's menu and I know my husband's taste in food are not very "adventurous". I might have to change plans for dinner...

We also like the miniature golf... So we might end up going again.

I meant Fort Wilderness. Need to correct that.

DH & I are like you...neither one of us are exactly "party animals" ,:rotfl2:
But a few of my favorite things to do at night...

Have dinner at Flying Fish at the Boardwalk.
Then take a stroll and have a drink at the Belle Vue Lounge at the Boardwalk Resort.

OR
Have dinner in the Grand Floridian somewhere, and then stroll the grounds there, then take the monorail over to the Polynesian and have a Lapu-Lapu or backscratcher (two fun drinks)

OR watch the fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian,,, So many things.pixiedust:

No luck for the Holiday sleigh ride... It's not available on that night. Oh well...

Another thought is, Disney is so beautiful at Christmastime, so why not do a monorail ride and stop at each of the monorail resorts and look at decorations? Grand Floridian will even have a huge gingerbread house on the main floor that is a sight to behold! Contemporary and Polynesian really do it up right, too. If you like looking at Christmas decorations, this would be a nice, low key way to spend the evening.

I like the idea of the monorail resorts tour for Christmas decorations (any resorts worth it?) might be a good idea.

I also just realized that getting ice cream at Beaches & Cream then walking on the Boardwalk could be interesting as well...

GF has the gingerbread house that sells gingerbread, CR is a good one, BC has the gingerbread carousel, YC the village. WL is gorgeous and so is AKL which you will see at Boma.

I would do beaches and cream, then boardwalk and check out those resorts, and swan and dolphin

Swan and Dolphin are decorated too?

Two things I've never done but am planning to do before summer is over:

1. Yehaa Bob at POR (perhaps along with a carriage ride at POFQ)
2. JellyRolls at Boardwalk (dueling pianos...so not just sitting around a bar, which I'm also not particularly fond of doing)

With JellyRolls, could enjoy the Christmas décor at those Epcot resorts, grab some ice cream at B&C, stroll the Boardwalk and stop in JR for a little bit.

I've checked pictures, it is absolutely gorgeous. I added this on my schedule!

Thank you very much for the suggestion!

I'm pretty sure the sushi place in the Swan has karaoke almost every night. The sushi is fabulous too.

No luck for the Holiday sleigh ride... It's not available on that night. Oh well...

If it's too early in the season for the "sleigh" ride, then it should be the usual carriage ride. Either they are all booked, don't take reservations, or the CM should have told you that there was a carriage ride option.
If the carriage rides are all booked that night, Fort Wilderness also has a first-come first-served group hay-ride. You'd be in the wagon with other families, so it's not a date but it's fun and relaxing. If you are at Fort Wilderness late enough, you can watch the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach.
Electrical Water Pageant can be watched from all the MK resorts - pick one you'd like to stroll then watch the pageant. Or, since you are eating at Boma and like AKL, how 'bout participating in their events? There should be night animal viewing and story time at the fire pit and cultural tours. Many resorts also have campfire programs and/or movies on a big screen. Usually a google search of a resorts recreation calendar will get you a copy of the current month's events and times for reference.
DH and I are also not party animals but a quiet cocktail in a resort lounge with a unique atmosphere is not unheard-of. Sometimes, we just go to the whirlpool and chat while we soak. Goodness knows we don't take time for that at home...
