The room description for BWV says that some of the studios have a daybed in addition to the queen size bed and sleeper sofa. Does anyone know if that means they can accomodate 5? :confused3

They only allow 4 in a room (the villas that is) unless one child is baby, then
you have a pak-n-play in the room. I believe this is true.

A few of the BWV are dedicated studios and have a small - and I mean SMALL - daybed, which is more like a crib sized mattress, very thin, on a deacon's bench. Kind of like a luggage rack. But those are only a request and you cannot be guaranteed one of those. You can have four persons, plus one child under the age of 3 in a DVC studio. No more.

They may allow five persons (only five) in a DVC one bedroom, though. But CRO will only allow four, plus one under the age of 3.

In the 2005 Birnbaum's Guidebook (pg.54), it advertises that BWV studios (as well as SSR studios) are suitable for 5. Although I don't understand this (I also thought maximum occupancy is 4, and why are BWV and SSR different), this official guidebook says 5 are allowed. But I think it would be a real tight squeeze and not a good idea.

However, Birnbaum's is incorrect. Somewhere between 2000 and 2001, Birnbaum's changed the occupancy of a studio at BWV in their guidebook from 4 to 5. Way back when, you could request the Studio Plus (with the "daybed"), but you can't do that anymore. They need to revise their guidebook. Neither DVC nor CRO will allow five persons (all over the age of 3) on a reservation in a studio. I have heard people do this, but I can't understand why they would want to squeeze so many into such a small space.

Well, Deb, obviously they'd 'want' to do it to save money! :rotfl2:

But unless your kids are very small, I think it would be crowded. We had 3 adults, (my sis, my d and me) and it was fine...no problem. And it wouldn't be worse than your whole fam in a hotel room, so...to each his own.

BUt , if you could swing the extra points to have a 1 bedroom and then maybe save a little by eating IN more, I think you'd be a happier camper and come out the same (the extra room cost vs dining out.)

we just returned from the Boardwalk Inn and we were in a room with 2 queen beds and a day bed.... the day bed wasn't all that small, looked pretty much like a normal day bed, we didn't need the extra space so we just used it for a place to put our suitcases.......but the room itself was great, we had a great balcony...the room was close to the quiet pool, the best part of all was not having to use the buses, except to go to animal kingdom.......we walked to Epcot, MGM and walked through Epcot and caught the monorail to MK....it was awesome!

Some of the BWI rooms have daybeds but they are talking about the villa studio rooms. I wouldn't mind putting my 3 kids in a studio because my youngest just tured 4 and they are small but we have a 1 bdrm booked in October. Anything to strech the points. We are even staying in POR in July. ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo
