2/8/03 Eastern Magic Anyone?

We signed up for late seating because we were told there are less kids in the dining room then. We haven't picked any excursions yet but I'm eyeing up the 12 meter boat race at St. Maarten big time. I like shopping for electronic toys in St.Maarten and St. Thomas. :bounce: Ohboyohboyohboy!

We are staying at the Beach Club the night before and we're taking the DCL bus to the ship.

Anyone interested in a pre-cruise party on the Boardwalk?

Got that out of my system. I feel better now!;) We are doing late seating, I guess we will have to find out rotations. Yes, there were few children at this time, however, those that were there were well behaved. I guess they feel the *Magic* just as much as we do. The pre-cruise get together sounds interesting, and there is always a "but"...we will have dinner ressies made for that night or even Cirque tickets. Haven't decided yet. I do think the odds are in favor of on board cast-off greet and meet if anyone else is interested, gotta get those lime green ribbons. This would be a great time for you to get that Pepsi!!!!

We are flying in the day before the cruise and my DW wants to do
Cirque also! WHAT A CONCEPT!!! ;) We are doing the DCL bus for transportation to the ship. We're staying at the Yacht Club the night before (The story on why we're staying there instead of a DVC resort will be told later) but we could meet you at Cirque.

An on-board meet and greet sounds great!

I'm really getting excited NOW!!!:bounce:

Check out our timers! You start before we do! NO FAIR!!!:(

We DCL rookies so we don't know of a good place to meet on the ship. Any suggestions?

Laura24, we're double digits!!!!!!!!!:bounce:

Well, I guess it's official - I made our final cruise payment today! I wanted it done and out of the way. Whew! One less thing to worry about.

We've also requested late seating. Since there's no little ones in our group, we thought late would be best for us. We're night owls anyway.

Gary, Chrissy, Annie,
I made sure to fly in very early the day before........ we land at 9:30 am!!!we have a whole day at DW. You never know how the weather will be up in the north so we give ourselves plenty of delay time. Heck, we've had that awful word *snow* flurries for two days now. Haven't decided on Cirque just yet...also leaning towards fireworks at MK. On board sounds like fun. You all decide on a deck and hopefully we'll find each other in the crowds. I tried this once before at MK with a group of people and we just could not find each other......too many people!!! Figure that one out.;) What decks are you all on? I'm on 6.:)

Chrissy,
Here is your official *WELCOME ON BOARD*. We are traveling without children also and two friends, the only children in the group will be my friend Char and I!;) Our DH's can fend for themselves. Late seating is great. Gives you plenty of time to get ready for dinner since the shows are first...just in case you run a little behind from excursions and such. It's also nice to be dressed to go from dinner to the clubs or lounge for after dinner drinks and shows. I am a huge fan of Mississippi Mudslides since our last cruise!:D

We are on Deck 7, and have early seating (travelling with our DD who will be 9)... This is our second cruise (first with Disney). Last time we just did a two night cruise from Fort Lauderdale to Nassau so am really looking forward to 7 days... Laura, I just noticed that you are from NJ - our last cruise, we met people from NJ and we ended up spending a few days after the cruise together in Orlando, and we still keep in touch ... We are even further up north than you and we have had some snow already. It is also really cold - the poor trick or treaters all look like icicles. It hasn't been this cold for Halloween in at least 5 years.

Just a suggestion - I've heard of some meets during the Palo tea, where someone makes a reservation for a pre-determined time...

Annie we're on Deck 7 too! We're really far aft in 7626 I think. My hubby spent 4 years on an aircraft carrier and says that he'll sleep like a baby back there, but I'm still not convinced I'll be able to sleep at all! I guess I just don't know what to expect.

I like the Palo's Tea idea. We're pretty much open to anything. Was anybody planning on doing that anyway?

Laura - Thanks for the Welcome on Board! I've got to try a Mississppi Mudslide now. When we lived in Hawaii I fell in love with Lava Flows - I wonder if they have something similar on board. It's a pina colada swirled with strawberry puree. Yum!

I, personally love the idea of tea, but will have to pass on the invite only because I do not want to slight our friends traveling with us. One of our party is physically challenged... so less structure of time is better for us. The sailaway celebration may be a great time to say hi. We could try to meet forward near the basketball court. We castoff at 4:30. I'll research it a little more if this sounds ok. I had a funny thought....we should carry cans of PEPSI with us as identification!! Believe me, you will be overwhelmed with what to do first and where to go next once on board. Getting on board, making ressies for Palos ect., finding your stateroom and getting ready for muster at 4:00 is an anxious time.
As for NJ, yes I am in Northwest Jersey, miles away from the Jersey shore. I do travel to Cape May each summer which is the furthest south you can travel in our *Garden State*. Beautiful Victorian town.
I became a fan of the Mississippi Mudslide thanks to Alistair...the CM at the Promenade Lounge. He did an excellent presentation of my drink....decorated with chocolate syrup in the form of spider webs. Amazing and delicious.:)

Dear fellow DCL cruisers,

I am going to post a picture with my first day outfit so I can be easily recognized! We are on deck 6, cabin # 6072. I like the basketball court idea. We're from Erie, Pa. , the land of LES (Lake Effect Snow).

I'm gonna have to work on this boat drink thing. I don't have a favorite on-ship but I like the Turtle Crawl at the Gurgling Suitcase in OKW.

Yes, I said PEPSI. Hey, we are on the same deck..two rooms-6140 and 6142, aft portside. Can't wait to see that first day photo. We women can't plan that far ahead..at least I know I can't. It's our prerogative to *change*:) our minds....often. As for the drinks-each day of sailing there is a drink of the day special...the taste is special, but boy the $$ add up. Life is just so grand when all you have to do is hand over your KTTW card. ;) The basketball court is deck 10 forward. Can't go any higher and ESPN Skybox is located there also. There is a huge plexi wind screen there and deck chairs. The wind coming out of the port can be very strong, this is a good place to duck behind for protection. It more than likely will be very crowded, but we can narrow the area of finding each other down a bit by meeting there. Pepsi cans or lime green ribbons or both??????????? I'm open for suggestions.

We are Pepsi addicts and will definitely have cans of pepsi with us so that sounds good to me... I wish I could be so organized to tell you what I'll be wearing... We will have lanyards that say "CUPE" on them if that helps...Laura I'm so glad you have the count down marker on your messages... before we know it we will be sailing away...

I have NO idea what I'll be wearing that first day. I'm still trying to figure out what the weather will be like in port in February. I know here it's pretty darned close to freezing that time of year.

Shopping for cruise clothes today!! I'm pretty much set but the hubby wants to buy a new suit. Taking a cruise has been the best excuse I can think of to go shopping! :)

Try not to laugh too hard, but I didn't even know there was a basketball court! You learn something new every day.

It's already freezing here. We've had snow for over a week. YUK!!! It is cold, cold, cold!! So it is really hard for us to imagine what we will need to wear in February on the cruise and in Orlando... Anything over 15 degrees C will seem like a hot summer day to us...

Good Morning Everyone,
I can feel the anticipation growing with each day that passes!! I shocked myself when I actually followed directions on the Tech Forum to load the countdown timer and it actually worked.
The basketball court on board is a half court and usually very active. In front of that area is the lounging area and windscreen. This is a great place to try to meet....we'll just have to work the area looking for the clues to find each other. (How lucky would Gary be if we all brought a can of PEPSI....he'd actually have a 6 -pack or two between us!;) ) The weather in February in FL can go both ways. Deciding how to dress is always a dilemma, especially for those of us traveling from the North in winter to the warmer climates. It's so hard to shed those layers. I love shopping!! Capris will be the staple in my wardrobe this trip. I'm trying to pack smarter this time and bring only 3 pairs of shoes-not 7. ;)

I just bought something on Ebay to help everyone find me on the cruise ship. As soon as I receive it I will post a picture so everyone can check it out!

The weather on the cruise will definately be better than what we have up here at that time of year!

Also, more Pepsi is ALWAYS a good thing, right Annie?!?;)

I will be packing my usual party attire along with my WDW wardrobe!

Hi everyone - Laura, I had to laugh about the 7 pairs of shoes...I was starting my packing list and can't get it below 5 pairs (runners, sport sandals, water shoes, two pairs of dressy sandals) and I just picked up a pair of cute summer shoes on sale so I'll probably want to bring them - I'm already back up to six pairs (yikes)... We are travelling for three weeks altogether so as much as I want to pack light, it's going to be tough...

I'm looking forwarding to finding out what the mysterious Ebay purchase is... and yes, you can never have too much pepsi!!

Cheers,
Ann
