Any idea what this might be? Planning a trip mother's day weekend and want to stay in Hershey, not Harrisburg. This is a 2.5 star hotel with continental breakfast, pool in the Hershey area for $101/night. Any body else book this recently? Thanks.

Don't have the answer, but you could try and call the Hershey Chamber of Commerce.

Did you check the website betterbidding.com?

...from someone who lives in the area...

Try Country Inns and Suites by Carlson Harrisburg Northeast.

It's a great, new hotel with nice ammenities and a much nicer price than other hotels just a couple of miles down the same road.

It's about 10 minutes from the park...and a straight shot at that.

I'm pretty sure that a hotel with a $101/night rate in Hershey proper would not be that great of a hotel. HersheyPark is open that weekend so any decent hotel in Hershey is going to be over $150 for a basic room.

Hope this helps!

I'm going to move this to the Community Board for you. However, I'm going to keep an eye on this-- I'm thinking of possibly taking the family to the Hershey area for a few days after Easter. We're not interested in the park- but the factory, the zoo, and then over to Lancaster, and maybe some outlet shopping.

I'm keeping an eye on this too - thinking of taking the Girl scouts to Harrisburg and Hershey in May.

Co-worker tried it and it turned out to be the Best Western Inn and Suites on North Mountain Road in Harrisburg. Does anyone know anything about this hotel? If you guys who know it, like it, I might try it too. Everything in Hershey is outrageous- comparable to a deluxe at WDW!!!! Thanks!!!!

I hope the Best Western on N. Mountain Road is nice because we are staying there in June when we go on vacation. We are going to do Hershey Park, Lancaster and Gettysburg.

I can't say that I know about the hotel you mentioned, but there are numerous hotels in the general area. Hershey is only 10-15 minutes from Harrisburg, so even the eastern side of Harrisburg should be ok. Either the Best Western or the Country Inn would be good choices. The Country Inn is one of the newer hotels in the area so that may have an appeal for you also. If you are into camping there are also several campgrounds nearby.

Good Luck with which ever you choose.

I thought I would warn you...there is a big cheerleading competition at Hershey Park Mother's day weekend!!! :cheer2:

Melissa

I wonder how big the cheerleading competition is and how it will affect the wait times at the park? Anyone know? Thanks.

I just looked this hotel up and it looks good for the price $74.00 for the week before easter. What is nearby? I'm thinking of doing Hershey on Friday and maybe saturday, but are there other attractions to do on say Wednesday and Thursday?

Well, if you like to shop there are outlets in Hershey and also nearby Lancaster. There is a place called Dutch Wonderland in Lancaster near the outlets on Rt. 30 (it is a small amusement park). There are also some Amish areas to visit and also a place that has trains on exhibit (Strasburg - also near the Lancaster outlets). If you are willing to drive a little bit (about 2 hours), Gettysburg is nice to visit in the spring. Lancaster and Harrisburg both have minor league baseball teams also, if you are interested in that. There are other numerous things to do. Indian Echo Caverns right outside Hershey is another. I can't post a link yet, but for more info you can go to visitpa com. (there should be a . in there) It should give you more than enough things to do.

Hersheypa is another good site for Hershey information. I also think I was a little off on the time to Gettysburg. I think I typed 2 hours before, it is actually only about an hour away.:confused3 Don't know what I was thinking.

Just to help with timing, you will spend less than one day at the zoo and the factory, even if you take it very slow.

I dont know how big the competition is......that would determine the impact. Also, keep in mind that you are going relatively early in the season, so that should help with the lines, etc.....as long as they have enough staff in place to handle everything.

And one more thing, the park is only open April 14 (10am-9pm), 15 (10am-9pm), & 16 (10am-6pm) for Springtime in the Park. The regular opening is May 5th. You can see the calendar at hersheypa (.) com in the attractions section for hershey park summer hours.

2 weeks ago I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express in Hershey for $85.00/night with my kids. It had an indoor pool and a nice continental breakfast. It was very clean and about a 5min. drive from Hershey Park.
