So we are going down for a crazy whirlwind 2 days starting Sunday. We are only going to be going to Magic Kingdom and will be staying at the CR, We are taking a 2 year old for the first time so I would like to do 1 character dining meal with Mickey, sticking to MK and the resort loop obviously our options are very limited and even harder to get reservations for. I had hoped to get a dinner for 5pm but so far no luck I was able to find a "brunch" at 2:25 given that brunch is over at 2:30 I am assuming that is the last reservation of the day for that meal.

Does anyone have any experience? Is it worth while to do? If the kiddos are still napping and we are a couple of minutes late is it going to be a bigger deal than usual? We have never done Chef Mickey's so any help would be really appreciated.

With the crazy hurricane situation this week there will likely be some cancellations. Keep checking especially 24 hours prior to the day you wish to dine. The food at CM's is just fair but character interaction is generally pretty good. There are better places to eat on the Monorail loop but I don't think you get Mickey/The Fab 5 at any of the others.

thanks as awful as I feel about all the people having to cancel that is kind of what I figured and yeah it is not my first choice food wise even for character dining but it is the first character meal for the 2 year old and I just can't imagine them not wanting to go there after they see it at check in so I wanted to be prepared with the reservation.

Take a look at touringplans.com They have a reservation finder that will notify you if something becomes available. Good luck! :earsboy:

Just an FYI, you won't see it at check-in as the restaurant is on a separate floor than the front desk. I'm just pointing that out in case there might be a Crystal Palace reservation at MK that would suit your plans more.

We've also used the touring plans finder with success, so hopefully you'll find something that works well with your schedule!
