2/15/2013 - 8 Night Western Cruise, Galveston, TX

I was thinking the same thing too, Julie. At the first meet we can get cabin numbers if there is anyone that did not get them assigned until check in or if anyone has a cabin switch at checkin.

I will also put my cell phone number on the FEE sheet and if anyone does not make that first meet they can text me any changes in their cabin assignement.

My FEE gifts are going well, but I had to pick them all up today since my brother is arriving. Somehow my DH thought it shouldn't look like a bomb went off in our house. :rotfl: We finally got our basement all completed yesterday from our remodel. Now I just have to get my craft room put back together down there and I might even be able to sneak in a little work time on my FEE gifts over the holidays. :thumbsup2

I just added a 4th tab to the FEE list. I was trying to compile all the particiapnts in one list. I was getting all the kids names down for what I'm making and a list like that was easier for me to refer back to. Most of my items are graphics and printouts, magnetic door tags and such.
Making door DND signs and such
Ours - need to cut out and laminate

That is about the extent of what I can do that's "handmade"
Cheers,
Jeff

I'll just apologize now if my FEE gifts aren't as super-impressive as some that I've seen on other threads... I wish that they were, but it is what it is, lol. I do have one little part taken care of, and an idea for another, and will feel better if I can come up with one more.

Hey, don't know why I didn't ask this before, but is anyone else into pin trading and bringing their pins?? DS and I both love it, and can't wait to trade on the ship again! One time, I think Tyler Dean was like 10 or 11, he was chosen to trade with the officers on that one night when they do that, and it was a highlight of all our cruises combined for him. He got to stand up there with the other officers and trade with guests, and they gave him a Magical Moments certificate afterward. He still talks about it. It was one of those things that only happens on Disney, and makes the higher cost worth every penny, you know?

Anyways, we'll be bringing both our trading lanyards and our pin portfolios, and hope to meet up with some other pin nuts! :hyper:

Looks beautifully handmade to me! I typically find stuff on Pinterest and copy. My copies come out semi-close to the things I copy from so I call that good. I love being crafty but the execution eludes me. Ah well, it's the thought that counts, right? :flower3:

Looking real good there, Jeff. :thumbsup2

I agree with Katie. It is the fun of participating, not what you get or give. Just the enjoyment of being in something bigger than just your own little world. In this case, it is being in the “Disney World” :cool1:

Gina, we also like to trade pins and I know that some others over on the facebook page also shared that they enjoy pin trading. My boys and I will all have ours to trade. I Have ever heard of the trading with the ship officers, but that sure sounds like a magical moment. My son, Christopher, was picked to drive the “remote controlled Car” at Lights, Motors, Action! last summer and he was in heaven.

Gina,

We are big into pin trading! I was just checking out pin lots on ebay to trade on this cruise. I remember seeing your and DS's lanyards when we welcomed the Magic to Texas. They were quite impressive. :thumbsup2 In 8 days we should have several opportunities to pin trade. The CMs in the shops trade too. You just have catch them when they are not super-busy.

58 days and counting!!:beach:

Aw, thanks! We're fixing to order some trader lots before the cruise too. And you're right -- there are tons of opportunities for pin trading... We generally wear our lanyards around a lot onboard, at least in the evenings. They usually have the pin cart with the limited edition pins out in the atrium around 7-7:30-ish (PM) and there are usually people sitting nearby doing some trading. That's where we'll likely be before dinner. :)

I swear, sometimes I think about the cruise, and suddenly I'm SO crazy excited it takes everything in me to not just jump up on my desk and dance a jig... Anyone wanna dance with me?

This installment of Food Porn Friday is centered around the Cove Cafe. I wanted to share this for any new cruisers - either new to cruising or to DCL - who might think that Cove Cafe is simply for specialty coffees that cost extra $$. As others have said, it's a great, cozy place to just hang out, AND, they have some of the most delicious sweets and treats on the ship -- for free!! It took me until my 3rd Magic cruise to figure that out... I just figured, like I guess a lot of people do, that since the coffees and other drinks are extra, the goodies must be as well.

I came across this blog entry that tells you all about what they offer in Cove Cafe and when, and some truly wonderful pictures! My mouth is watering...

I'm dancing right there with you!! And since this cruise is a Christmas surprise for DD, no one else even knows we're going yet, so I can't even talk about it. I almost spilled the beans at least 5 times yesterday.

We have late dinner this time too, so we will check out the pin trading before dinner. We always seemed to miss it when we had early dinner. I guess we were already at the shows or getting ready to go to them.

I'm so excited I just can't stand it!!!:yay::yay::yay::yay:

Gina, I will dance with you...:banana::banana:
I too didn't discover until my 3rd cruise that the food in cove cafe was free!:rotfl2: I would always look longingly at the chocolate covered strawberries and not get them because we had already spent so much money. :rotfl: I would also only go into cove cafe once or twice during the cruise, not feeling my $3 cup of coffee was not justified...now I go in every morning and get a GOOD cup of coffee and FREE muchies. :thumbsup2

Oh Gina! Thank you for the Friday food porn! :dancer: That has me in for dancing too! I shared the link with my mom and we both can not wait for the chocolate covered strawberries.

party:

Omg!!! I've never even been in cove cafe because I don't drink coffee. Guess where I'll be multiple times next cruise!!! Thanks Gina!

I'm so glad there are other people who just never went there and didn't know they had all these yummies! And I always would sit right outside Cove Cafe in the smoking area, and never went in... Oh well, at least we know now!! :goodvibes

Hey, I was just looking at the FEE list again, and saw that there are two other families from here in Pearland! Come out, come out, wherever you are!! :teeth:

The kids stayed the night at grandma and grandpa's last night, so DH and I wrapped (well, I mostly wrapped and DH kept me company!) We also came up with all of our clues for the scavenger hunt for our big reveal Christmas morning! It took a lot of brain power, but here's what we've got - maybe it will help others who are doing a scavenger hunt:

1) Dear Caleb and Ella,
We're excited to tell ya -
Your last gift to open is something SO HUGE,
Not something to read or even something to wear - it's something to DO!

Now that you've read the very first clue,
Let's move on to clue number two!

2) The next gift is something you might want to use,
When it's bright outside, to enhance your views. (SUNGLASSES)

Now go check the room that we dine in,
Pull back the curtain and let the sun shine in! (Dining Room)

3) Hope you're ready - here's clue number three!
Your toes will lobe these, they'll feel so free! (FLIP FLOPS)

Hurry up! Move your rear!
Come find us with all your swim gear! (In closet inside swim team bag)

4) The next clue will give you a big hint
About where a lot of our time will be spent. (DISNEY OCEANS MOVIE)

Any ideas where the next clue will be?
Look in a place with some things made by Disney. (In with the movies)

5) This next-to-last clue will be something to share.
You can even take it under water - it won't care! (UNDERWATER CAMERA)

Come find me - don't be a dope!
I'm hanging out with the bubbles and soap! (Floating in bathtub)

6) If you put us together, you'll figure it out.
I think if you do, you might want to shout!

But if you need a little help setting it straight,
Mickey and Minnie will help - look where they skate. (Disney Cruise brochure hiding in the limbs of the Christmas tree with all Disney ornaments!)

I'm getting SO stinking excited for the kids to find out! It's gonna be a torturous couple of days waiting!

That's impressive that you came up w/ that on your own! :cool1: I'm not nearly that creative, lol! I cheated & got my clues online! :)

That is so awesome. At what clue do you think they will start shouting out ideas of what/where they will be doing? Get it on video, it will be a lifetime memory.
I know your Christmas morning will be very Magical!!!
Nice job:thumbsup2

LOL, it took a lot of brain power! Don't ask me to think too hard about anything until after Christmas - I used everything I've got! :rotfl2:

I think maybe with the Oceans movie? LOL, who knows?? I think Caleb may figure it out - he's really smart and usually pretty good at stuff like this! Ella, while also very smart, is a little spacey :) so I don't know that she'll really figure it all out till the end!

Oh and we will definitely be videoing! I'll try and post it!

Hi FloridaFun,

We just booked our cruise on the Magic and I'm new to the Disney boards. My family is interested in joining the fish extender. I'm hoping there is still space. There are 3 families in our group with a total of 7 kids. I heard you are the person that we need to contact to sign up. Can you please send us the link.

Thank you,
Threeofhearts

Lori – Love your Christmas treasure hunt! What a great Christmas surprise.

Threeofhearts – I am the contact person for the FEE. You can email me the following to beth@sitesandsounds.com

Cabin numbers (if you have the assigned), your DIS name, family last names, adult names, kid names with ages, where you are from, any special celebrations, t-shirt sizes (not sure if anyone is doing shirts, but someone asked for it early on), any allergies, and your google email address if you have one.

We have a great 3rd group going. Is there anyone else that would like to join the 3rd group? :thumbsup2

Beth

That's awesome Glorib! I hope you can post the video - it's sometimes hilarious to see the kids reactions or non-reactions.

Gina, I think with so many of us drooling over those chocolate covered strawberries they better not run out!

Let me be the first to wish everyone a Merry Christmas or Happy Holiday's, and a Happy New Year! :santa:
