1st week of Sept. crowds

I just realized... 9/11!!! Think that is why I could get into any DVC resort except BCV at this late of date???

I get freaked out by stuff like that. Would any of ya'll not go cause it is 9/11?

The same issue came up for our trip. We leave out on the Magic on 9/11 and it still seems just a bit ooky to me. We actually chose to fly down on 9/10, partially because we wanted to get there early, and partially because it just didn't seem quite right to fly on that day. I don't have anything against people who are flying on that day, but it was easy for us to just go a day earlier and I felt better about it.

I guess you can't live in fear or let your life stop, but it's more like my own quiet memorial.

We will be arriving on 9/11, flying from Colorado. I see no problems with flying that day. We've been to WDW in September for the last few years, and really enjoy the low crowds. The CMs are very interested in talking and are much more at ease. This year MK is open later due to Wishes being shown every night. I the past, you only got Fantasy in the Sky and Spectro on Saturday nights. The rest of the week MK could close by 7. However, since the crowds are so low, you get everything done you want in the shorter hours. We usually stay at the Beach Club or Boardwalk (DVC) so we spend our evenings at Epcot and walk home. We enjoy a late swim, mini golf, DTD or strolling the Boardwalk. Going in September makes a very relaxed vacation.

As for Night of Joy, most of the crowds are youth groups from around the state, and they go home on Sunday (usually). The day of the event (Thu, Fri and Sat) Mk will be more crowded. I'd avoid MK late in the day. NoJ is a ticketed event, like MVMCP, so you can't get in once it starts if you don't have a ticket. If you do decide to go, it's not about riding rides. It's about the concerts. It's so amazingly crowded, the rides all have 1-2 hours waits. It's a great event to go to, but only for the bands. The kids can get a little obnoxious and loud, but it's mostly in fun. I am hoping to buy tickets for Saturday night, but I'm not sure I can talk my husband into it.

Do not worry about 9/11 at all....terrorists would like us to be fearful that day, not going to happen!! I was in WDW the MK on 9/11 and I will be sure and stop in there sometime that day again in memory of that day, but it is not stopping us at all...:sunny:

Hope your folks have a great Anniversary in WDW and enjoy your trip....
