Is it crowded? I looked at the fairfield inn for the dates of June 4 - 15 and nothing comes up. Yet when i plug in the dates of june 9 and up it comes up really cheap. Why is there no availability? Is there something going on? Ive never been the first week and a half of june. That said, we're gonna book june 9 - 21.

Anaheim Convention Center has this listed for the week you are going...

Intitute of Food Technologists 2009 Annual Meeting & Food Expo 06/07/09 06/10/09

I've gone down the last two years during that time frame. The parks were hit and miss on weekdays, for issues I'll address below. The weekends(or at least Saturday as I wasn't there on Sundays) were extremely busy. On weekends, get there early, use fastpass, and stay late to minimize wait times.

While most California schools are still in session during that time period, some neighboring states are out of school, so expect the park to be busier than in May. You may also have to contend with local schools having field trips in the park. This will usually impact crowds, but even more tricky can be the herd mentality that seems to envelop many of them. In other words, they'll stand around in the middle of a crowded walkway and debate over what they're going to do next, all the while not realizing that it's incredibly difficult to move around them.

In all fairness, not all school aged guests on field trips act this way, but enough do that it becomes something you have to deal with.

We just went this past june (first week as well). It was great during the weekdays. The weekends were very crowded. Most rides during the week were 10-20 minutes or they were walk-ons. The weather was great. It would be nice in the afternoon and get a little chilly at night. We had to buy sweatshirts one night. We stayed in San Diego for a few days before we came up and we had what most out there say as "the june gloom".
