1st week of February

I'm trying to book either the Poly or GF for the 1st week of February and I'm being told that there are no rooms available??? Is there something going on that time of year that I'm not aware of? I thought that February was a slower time of year. I asked Disney and they were no help. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are high school dance and cheerleading competitions the first two weekends, but I thought that the kids usually stayed at values.

This has happened to us two years in a row during the "slow" season. Last January and this January we booked the Land/Sea package and tried to add a day at the resort we were staying in (Poly 07/Beach Club 08) and both times we were told there were no rooms available. We are not going during MLK week or the marathon or New Years Eve, so why can't I get a room?

Last year we ended up staying the one night at the Port Orleans and this year we're doing the Boardwalk. We hadn't stayed at either resort before, so it's fun to experience a new resort, yet it is a hassle to not be able to unpack and settle in for the duration.

I wish I knew the reason.

I also think Mardi Gras is during the first week sometime, that may also have something to do with it.

Mardi Gras is Feb 5, 2008....that could be the reason for no availability
