***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

OK you guys asked for it! My notes first, then the spreadsheet pictures. Any and all advice/critique welcome.

11/27: Resort crawl...still very unplanned and needs some work. I have Ohana ADRs for 3:30pm, 5:10pm, or 9:10pm. I also have a Cali Grill for 9:30pm that if we keep that will not be a full meal, but apps/desserts and viewing fireworks. I was planning to snack along the resort tour, but this ended up being the day I could get the best fitting Ohana ADR I think.

11/28: AK day. Considering cancelling Flying Fish dinner. Then either leave this unplanned and we get some QS dinner item (pizza at Boardwalk maybe) or throw some Disney Springs time in here.

11/29: I wanted to transition to Epcot earlier than this is showing. But this is currently my "keeper" BOG dinner. I moved my Le Cellier from 11/29 dinner to 11/30 lunch to accommodate this and we will only snack around the WS for dinner on 11/29.

11/30: Unsure of the Garden Grill PPO. I did want to eat here, but that's a lot of food early in the morning. We want to hit up Soarin first so hopefully this would give us a good spot for that. Thinking of hitting up WL before heading to MK for the night. I'm assuming we won't get to WL on our first day of resort touring.

12/1: Pretty set here, but need to make a MVMCP plan.

12/2: Pretty set here. Have 2 HBD lunch ADRs to choose from...12:40 or 1:55.

12/3: This day has always been a mess for me. JBJB is set. I could do AK or EP in the morning. After JBJB I could do EP, MK, or DS. I have 2 BOG dinner ADRs in case: 8:15pm and 9:55pm. If I decide to do BOG dinner here, I would change 11/29 to more Epcot time and less MK time. At Disney Springs I've been drooling over Homecoming Kitchen reviews lately. Advice welcome!

12/4: Last day. :( I'm debating what my last dinner should be. I have a 7:40 Rose & Crown, but I'm thinking maybe Restaurant Marrakesh or Spice Road Table.

11/28 if you cancel Flying Fish, you can make a Homecoming ADR here :)

What do you want from BOG? Heavy meal? Light meal and just see the restaurant? If you want a heavier meal, the 11/29 makes sense... If not, then 12/3 after jbjb would be good. I think after JBJB the 8:15
reservation is better if you plan to watch Wishes that night.

As for Garden Grill PPO, it will get your to Soarin early. If you plan to eat there anyway, it's a good choice.

As for your last day, what's your DH's preference? I'm just thinking that if you have a meal he likes at the end, it would leave a good impression on him and you'll go back sooner ;) I have heard really good things about Spice Road Table though.

So I've managed to secure an ADR for 3 for Wishes Holiday Dessert Party, hoping I can turn it into 4 in the next 2 weeks otherwise I'll have to cancel.

Wow...you are so much more organized than I am!
I agree that garden grill breakfast is a lot if you're eating at le cellier for lunch.
I would commit to your Disney springs night, then everything else will fall into place. Personally, I would choose your flying fish night...seems more relaxing to do DS after ak....but I've never been to FF...so ask around. Just DS seems like a lot after jbjb...you won't even get there until 8:00... I'd be tired after two parks already on the seventh day of vacation...but you're younger with much more energy, I'm sure. Whatever you choose, it will be great.

I just asked about the lobster on the restaurant board. I make scallops at home a lot. The bay scallops that are harvested here locally in season are TO DIE FOR. so sweet and buttery. I love sea scallops too and they are so easy to make (we pan sear in ghee) and for $16.50 for a pound it is a nice "special occasion at home" dinner and much less than eating out. I am never inclined to order things out that I can make so easily at home (I know it is a different prep). But as I said on the restaurant thread, even though lobster is "cheaper" here it's not "cheap" and I don't indulge much. I have a few lobster rolls when they are plentiful in the summer and I will on occasion go to a take out seafood joint and get a steamed lobster if they are running a special but even in new england, a nice restaurant presentation of lobster is in the $40's and I never spend that on an entree for myself eating out (and bf is cheap, if we even went to a nice place he'd be complaining about the prices and we'd be sharing and he would not be buying my princess self lobster!) so even though I live in new england, my lobster experience is limited to thrown in a styrofoam container and cracking the whole thing myself and making a huge mess as water pours out of it and down my arms. I'm looking forward to treating myself to an elegant lobster dinner even if I have to fly to florida to get it dammit!
I get what you mean. It's great to indulge at Disney! :) I'm glad DH and I can share there as I still want lobster too! LOL. Looking forward to knowing more about this butter poached lobster and how it compares to the steamed one.

By the way, just to let you know if you have not seen it yet, they have cheese fondue in a bread bowl at EPCOT. Thought of your son when I saw that! ;)

12/4, and it's our only time at WDW for MVMCP. Haven't seen any reviews, but we did the Star Wars weekend dessert party + perks and liked it.
Nice! Hope you get that extra one! I'm hoping reviews will start coming out and help me decide whether I should keep it or not. It does take up a lot of party time.

How can you go wrong with butter poached lobster???

One thing about 11/28 is I'm worried if we make a dinner ADR after 7pm then we might be eating too late. We have another early morning the next day.

I really just want to see BOG. We will see it for breakfast, but I also wanted a lunch or dinner. Dinner ADRs have just been easier for me to find so far. I just now got a lunch ADR for BOG on 11/29 but it's at 1pm and that is too close to our breakfast, especially since the breakfast is buffet style. A 2:30pm lunch on 11/29 would be best I think. I'll keep looking. If I have a lunch, I see no reason to do a dinner too.

I'm more leaning towards DS and Homecoming after JBJB.

The Garden Grill food looks great. I have a 10:10 on 11/30 also, and an 11:50 for lunch. Obviously I only need one of those and the PPO seemed to fit best.

Good point, I could show DH some options and let him choose. He hasn't really been into looking at menus ahead of time, but now that it's getting close he might want to. He just keeps telling me to pick where I want and he'll find something to eat.

I agree that it will take up a lot of party time. DD and I are hitting two mvmcps so I though the lost time would be ok...might be totally over it by 10:00 pm on the second party night...lol!

Hmmm, I was thinking we'd be more tired after our AK day since there is a lot of walking in that park. :crutches:

I think I've yet to see a bad review on Flying Fish. And we could go and not order a huge meal, but drinks and appetizers or something. It's probably worth keeping just for the frozen peanut butter beverage. :drinking1

I'm still not sure how much time to plan for DS. And we don't know yet what time the Drone show will happen, but hopefully it's every night at least.

Oh yes! I forgot you have EMM the next day! If that's the case, I would just do QS at Boardwalk or get something before leaving AK.

If that's the case, then I would just commit to doing DS after JBJB. Make the reservation! I think you could keep BOG at 11/29 then. If you find a lunch, it would even be better. Have you tried looking for reservations for one person each?

Garden Grill does look good and have the added perk of getting to Soarin right away! We have lunch there because we're not such big breakfast ppl and I have a ton of breakfast reservations already! LOL

Yes definitely get your DH to look at those ones... Tell him it's one meal he gets to pick :) I have a tendency to force DH to look at menus but he often ignores me.

EDIT: just saw your comment on Flying Fish, that's a great idea if you're not going to DS anyway that day! The pork belly appie is getting rave reviews! ;) Of course so are the drinks. ;)

You were so right, it helped to talk it out! :D

I'll have to make a decision about 11/28 dinner. I still want to leave room/flexibility for ROL. I won't give up hope...

I'm going to make 12/3 my DS night. Done. Still have to decide if we will just snack through it or if we want a dinner reservation. I'm leaning towards snacking through it. Morimoto has a quick service and it looks like at Homecoming has a grab n go as well according to their menu on disney's website. Hopefully it's not too crowded being a Saturday night, but I don't think I've ever heard of anyone complaining about DS crowds and MK is rated a crowd level of 8 that night so avoiding that is probably best.

I just realized I have a good bit of breakfast reservations as well now, mainly because the trek and EMM comes with breakfast. Oh well, less groceries to buy!

Glad it helped talking about it!

Umm, from what I've read, DS is a zoo on Saturdays too, mostly because of locals I think. But with 2 adults, I'm sure you guys will be fine. :D Homecoming does have a to go menu and so does Frontera!

Where is this cheese fondue bread bowl?? I must have it!

Ugh that's what I was afraid of by picking that night. Maybe DS on 11/28 after AK is the better plan and we can just snack there for dinner. Then we'll just have to decide when we are there if we want more DS time or not and plan accordingly. I plan to do the same with AK since we only have 1 day scheduled there.

Edited to add...Flying Fish doesn't seem like a hard ADR to get if I want to change that around.

You haven't been reading in the right places if you haven't heard complaints of crowds at DS! lol

We're going there on 11/26 to get our tickets activated and I'm scared! We plan to be there in the early afternoon though, so hopefully it won't be too terrible. Being Black Friday weekend though, ugh! And they're having specials at the stores to draw in shoppers plus they'll be having all the holiday entertainment and whatnot, I have a feeling we'll go long enough to get our tickets done and look around a bit but then try to go back during the week sometime to really take it all in.

I definitely have not read up much on DS I admit. This needs to be taken into consideration for sure!
