***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Ugh that's what I was afraid of by picking that night. Maybe DS on 11/28 after AK is the better plan and we can just snack there for dinner. Then we'll just have to decide when we are there if we want more DS time or not and plan accordingly. I plan to do the same with AK since we only have 1 day scheduled there.

Edited to add...Flying Fish doesn't seem like a hard ADR to get if I want to change that around.
You haven't been reading in the right places if you haven't heard complaints of crowds at DS! lol

We're going there on 11/26 to get our tickets activated and I'm scared! We plan to be there in the early afternoon though, so hopefully it won't be too terrible. Being Black Friday weekend though, ugh! And they're having specials at the stores to draw in shoppers plus they'll be having all the holiday entertainment and whatnot, I have a feeling we'll go long enough to get our tickets done and look around a bit but then try to go back during the week sometime to really take it all in.

Totally forgot about Black Friday... Eeek, I hope that would be over by then. But I'm sure there will be christmas shoppers around too.

I will say that maybe you could do 11/28, cut your AK time a little so you would not be at DS too late. Maybe add some AK time on your MVMCP day after Boma? Is that possible??

We don't have a park day on our tickets on 12/1 so we just plan to use the MVMCP ticket that day. I was actually planning DS on 12/1 after Boma, but now with all the nighttime stuff it didn't make sense to plan an afternoon there. If ROL isn't up and running, we could leave AK a little earlier after we see the Tree of Life Awakening.

True true!

Just to convince u to go to DS a little more:

Also wonder when the drone show will start ;)

Nice! Maybe I need some daylight time and some nighttime there. I really don't plan on doing much shopping.

Someone on the Disney Foodies page posted pics of the seasonal cakes at Amorette's! They also offer crepes now too.

OK you guys asked for it! My notes first, then the spreadsheet pictures. Any and all advice/critique welcome.

11/27: Resort crawl...still very unplanned and needs some work. I have Ohana ADRs for 3:30pm, 5:10pm, or 9:10pm. I also have a Cali Grill for 9:30pm that if we keep that will not be a full meal, but apps/desserts and viewing fireworks. I was planning to snack along the resort tour, but this ended up being the day I could get the best fitting Ohana ADR I think.

11/28: AK day. Considering cancelling Flying Fish dinner. Then either leave this unplanned and we get some QS dinner item (pizza at Boardwalk maybe) or throw some Disney Springs time in here.

11/29: I wanted to transition to Epcot earlier than this is showing. But this is currently my "keeper" BOG dinner. I moved my Le Cellier from 11/29 dinner to 11/30 lunch to accommodate this and we will only snack around the WS for dinner on 11/29.

11/30: Unsure of the Garden Grill PPO. I did want to eat here, but that's a lot of food early in the morning. We want to hit up Soarin first so hopefully this would give us a good spot for that. Thinking of hitting up WL before heading to MK for the night. I'm assuming we won't get to WL on our first day of resort touring.

12/1: Pretty set here, but need to make a MVMCP plan.

12/2: Pretty set here. Have 2 HBD lunch ADRs to choose from...12:40 or 1:55.

12/3: This day has always been a mess for me. JBJB is set. I could do AK or EP in the morning. After JBJB I could do EP, MK, or DS. I have 2 BOG dinner ADRs in case: 8:15pm and 9:55pm. If I decide to do BOG dinner here, I would change 11/29 to more Epcot time and less MK time. At Disney Springs I've been drooling over Homecoming Kitchen reviews lately. Advice welcome!

12/4: Last day. :( I'm debating what my last dinner should be. I have a 7:40 Rose & Crown, but I'm thinking maybe Restaurant Marrakesh or Spice Road Table.

This spread sheet is AWESOME! I want to steal it.

So cool of you to share this with me. I love it!

Sure! This format helps me visualize the whole trip. Once I have my plans set, I'll be making some time of daily plan template that will be more helpful to take with me.

OMG! I almost lost my coffee on the "car next to us literally blew up" part!
Yeah, it really was an unbelievable trip. I kept thinking I was on some hidden camera show or something. LOL

11 days to go and I woke up with a cold. I knew it was coming. :-( At least I will get better by the time we leave?:crazy2::guilty::sad2:

Oh no!! I feel for you...I just got over a sinus infection and bronchitis. I kept telling myself at least it was happening now and not at Disney! Hope you feel better soon!

I just asked about the lobster on the restaurant board. I make scallops at home a lot. The bay scallops that are harvested here locally in season are TO DIE FOR. so sweet and buttery. I love sea scallops too and they are so easy to make (we pan sear in ghee) and for $16.50 for a pound it is a nice "special occasion at home" dinner and much less than eating out. I am never inclined to order things out that I can make so easily at home (I know it is a different prep). But as I said on the restaurant thread, even though lobster is "cheaper" here it's not "cheap" and I don't indulge much. I have a few lobster rolls when they are plentiful in the summer and I will on occasion go to a take out seafood joint and get a steamed lobster if they are running a special but even in new england, a nice restaurant presentation of lobster is in the $40's and I never spend that on an entree for myself eating out (and bf is cheap, if we even went to a nice place he'd be complaining about the prices and we'd be sharing and he would not be buying my princess self lobster!) so even though I live in new england, my lobster experience is limited to thrown in a styrofoam container and cracking the whole thing myself and making a huge mess as water pours out of it and down my arms. I'm looking forward to treating myself to an elegant lobster dinner even if I have to fly to florida to get it dammit!
Yeah, I grew up eating lobster (my grandmother managed a bar where lobstermen were the main customers, and I had several uncles and cousins who were lobstermen), but I won't pay for lobster when I go to a restaurant. (Except in Mashpee at the Raw Bar, we get the giant lobster roll and it's TO.DIE.FOR.) Anyway, when we want lobster, I get them at the grocery store and they steam them there for free. Much easier than cooking at home!
And actually that's why we're not eating seafood while we're at Disney. We've gotten seafood and "lobster" in Florida in the past and it just wasn't as good as what we can get here. I admit, I'm a seafood snob. :rotfl:

You were so right, it helped to talk it out! :D

I'll have to make a decision about 11/28 dinner. I still want to leave room/flexibility for ROL. I won't give up hope...

I'm going to make 12/3 my DS night. Done. Still have to decide if we will just snack through it or if we want a dinner reservation. I'm leaning towards snacking through it. Morimoto has a quick service and it looks like at Homecoming has a grab n go as well according to their menu on disney's website. Hopefully it's not too crowded being a Saturday night, but I don't think I've ever heard of anyone complaining about DS crowds and MK is rated a crowd level of 8 that night so avoiding that is probably best.

I just realized I have a good bit of breakfast reservations as well now, mainly because the trek and EMM comes with breakfast. Oh well, less groceries to buy!
We were going back and forth about what to do after JBJB too. Originally we were going to go to DS, but then I got the idea to go to Epcot and Illuminations. Then I figured it'd be too late since we have EMM the next day. Now we're back to going to DS after. I know it will be busy but the only other time we can go is much later in the trip.

I've never been to the raw bar in Mashpee. We have thought about it but it is pricey and we always have those (*#)@$*& kids with us, which jacks the price up higher. We want to go adults only, lol. I usually get the church or american legion lobster rolls here. they are quite yummy.

I don't usually do whole lobsters just because they are a messy pain although one of my contractors once showed up at my office with 4 steamed chicken lobsters, 3 lbs of (raw) steamers, and cole slaw and a stick of butter (i guess that is how they sell the clam bake lol). I had to call bf at work and make him come home because I couldn't at all that myself and it doesn't stay good for very long. the warm water "lobster" is just nasty (the only place I had it and it was good was in aruba but it was very very fresh, not frozen, but it was not "lobster" it was its own thing). Narcoossees has maine lobster so I'm going to have it there lovely and elegantly plated and easy to eat. Princess doesn't like to work for her food.

Well I ended up doing work lol

11/27, if you want to do both Ohana and CA Grill I'd do the 3:30 Ohana. you will probably be done around 4:30 with first seating. Then what I would do is try out trader sam's early before it gets too crowded. then take the monorail to the GF and do their bar. then take the monorail to the MK and grab a boat to the WL. Then grab a boat from the WL directly back to the contemporary for your 9:30 CA Grill. You probably will not get a seat that time of night, people will be holding on to tables, so just watch the fireworks outside. You MAY get a good table but actually it is better from outside because there are no window reflections.

If you don't do both then I would do Ohana at more like 5:10 maybe starting with trader sam's first right when they open at 4pm... then dinner... then what I said before ending with fireworks on the contemporary beach.

12/28 I would not do pizza at the boardwalk. yuck-o. I would abandon the bw for DS if you are going for casual good eats.

12/29 I think your timing is good if you want to go to epcot for illuminations personally

11/30 I would keep it as it seems to work great for soarin but you could also flip it and RD soarin' with a little later GG breakfast if you can find one.

12/3 I would do Epcot in the morning (forgetting about getting there earlier on 12/29) and then back to Epcot in the evening. stay in the same area. but I am not the hugest fan ever of AK.

12/4 Marrakesh is pretty meh. I would do R&C (not really my type of food) or spice road table.

Thanks! I do have to chuckle a little that you gave advice for 12/28 and 12/29 (instead of 11/28 and 11/29). My mind auto-fixed it and I didn't noticed until your typo in your notes for 12/3.

For 11/28: I didn't know BW pizza was yucko! Thanks for the warning! DH loves pizza, but we have so many great pizza places at home. I think DS on 11/28 is the way to go. And going early in my trip will give me an idea if we want to make time to go back or if we're done with it.

For 11/30: I do have a 10:10 GG Breakfast ADR that seems like it would work for us better timing wise. But then I'd have to cancel the Le Cellier lunch. I'm not dead set on any one Epcot restaurant. I've just tried picking things by menus and that are food we can't get near home easily.

For 12/3: Overall I think I need more Epcot time and that I have plenty of MK time. That's my general feel at least. So I like the idea of going back to Epcot after JBJB on 12/3. And we could call it an earlier night since we have a PPO BOG the next morning, which I'm debating on cancelling that also (is it too close to Trail's End brunch? 2:00pm is the end of brunch there, so I can't go any later than I have).

oops lol. Well Le Cellier is something I would have liked to fit in. I love their filet with risotto. but I have other filets at other places and even filet with risotto at CA Grill and I make risotto at home a lot so I let that one drop. if I had one more day at Epcot it would have been top on the list.
