***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Was reading about Tony's town square last night...is it really that bad?? Italian is always a safe bet for DD, and I read they have gf pasta...which is why I made the ADR, but now I'm secon guessing myself. In the past, most of our dinners were QS, so I figured anything would be a step up. Should I just drop the ADR and try to get a table at the plaza???
if you are Italian or from an area with a large italian-american population and amazing italian restaurants you will be disappointed. If you are ok with chain italian like the Olive Garden it will probably be fine. Tony's gets a TON of hate but then every once in a while someone who just ate there on a trip pops up and posts that it was good. As long as you are not expecting the best thing you ever ate it is probably fine, esp if DD is a fan :)

So even though DH said he only wanted to do 1 breakfast and I have 1900 PF booked for 12/9...I booked Tusker House breakfast today (thanks @JamieOak !) for our 12/3 AK day. :rolleyes1
I'm tempted to surprise DH since he loves Donald Duck...but then he may not be happy about not being told.
I've never been there, but from what I hear it's really good. Is it worth stopping our park touring to do the breakfast? (That's why he usually doesn't like breakfast ADR's...he'd rather do rides or shows.)

@Mrs. Inc I know there are a few people who really like Tony's, but there are a majority of people who do not. Have you thought about The Wave at CR. It's a short walk there and they have very good food. It's becoming a not-so hidden gem and I'm sure she can find something she'll eat.

And thank you for the BOG lunch! Successful swaps make me happy.

I only dropped TH because I booked a Boma breakfast on 12/1 so we can go see AKL. After dropping TH, I still have 2 breakfast buffets for our trip (during EMM and the Boma). We also have 2 buffet dinners (Ohana and during Club Villain) and 2 dessert party buffets. It just seemed to be getting out of hand with the AYCTE reservations. I'm even rethinking the ones I still do have, but the only one I'd cancel is the Wishes fireworks dessert party.

I think it would be premature to cancel it before reviews start coming in from those attending the first parties. At the very least wait until others start giving their opinion. I know the MK dessert parties sometimes get a bad rap but it's entirely possible that this one could turn out to be amazing. Who knows?
That's always the best advice. If it were just DH and I, I'd be all in. Part of my hesitation is making sure that our girls can tolerate it, and hopefully enjoy the show. It's early in the trip and I don't want to overdo it, too early. :)

Maybe you should wait and make a decision until the first party reviews come out? Then you can make a more informed decision :)
Like I said before, that's the best thing to do. I'm just hoping someone will report who has gone with little ones.

@pigletgirl Is there any particular reason why you are thinking about cancelling? I think that's sound advice from [ Unless you really want to open that time up for something in particular, might be a good idea to keep it tucked away for now? As an aside, I'd like to personally thank you for bringing TeePublic into our lives! haha Great stuff!! :daisy:
See above. :) I stumbled across TeePublic because the DIS uses them for DIS merchandise. They just have the best collection of unique Disney/Universal clothing items! I actually think I like what they have over what it sold in the parks.

@pigletgirl I would add to that to wait until the last possible minute to cancel. Even if the first reviews are not great, Disney is not above making changes based on guest feedback and if it is anything like SWaGS parties, they will be soliciting guest feedback like crazy. The only issue might be overcrowding in the viewing area but that is something Disney has the power to address and quite easily even if it is a political thing between the dessert party division and HS. it just may take a few parties to iron it out... they have a couple of weeks to figure it out before we are there. So I would say "cool your jets" until you know what the real deal is a couple of days before.
Yep, I definitely need to "cool my jets"! ;)

What are the reasons why?
See above. :)

my guess is they raised capacity from 200 to 250 and she is worried about crowding (hence the reason more tickets opened up). that said I think it can be managed and managed well, I would rather eat dessert and only wait 15 minutes to see the fireworks than stand around waiting an hour and 15 minutes. They will get complaints if it is MORE crowded in the reserved viewing area than non reserved but if it is about as crowded, i can't blame them really for maximizing viewing for all the guests.
I haven't actually been to a fireworks show in HS -- we never did make it when they did the Frozen Fireworks. From what it sounds like, the viewing area is amazing for those who have the Dessert Party scheduled.

I'll hold onto our spot for now.

well I LOVE breakfast and I would rather real breakfast, snack, and real dinner than small breakfast, real lunch, real dinner. so I might not be the one to ask. But the food is great and there are characters and it is on an EMH morning and if it is the one I gave up it gives you 1.5 hours of touring before you have to stop for breakfast and then you are probably good til dinner with JBJB being so early so I think it works. but that's me lol

I made my purchases on teepublic today :rotfl: I feel so happy and broke.. Looks like this is how I will feel for months to come! :rotfl2:

For the dessert party, I will be bringing my little one to jbjb on 12/3 (our first night) and I also have MVMCP dessert party on 12/8. I think that waiting in a dessert party might be a better option for my little one just because it will keep him more entertained and there will be room to run around. jbjb is also early enough that hopefully he will be nice and awake for it :) can't wait for reviews to come out too :)

It's at 10:20, is that the one you had?
It will require some finagling, but I'm pretty sure I can make it work. With our current TP for AK, we'll be finishing around 1pm...and that's with breaks in between.
I figured by that time we'll be hungry after getting to the park for EMH. Then we can have a snack (pulled pork fries!) and be ready for linner at Sci-Fi at 3pm. The only downside is no QS at Y&Y, but I don't think DH will be too disappointed.

I know! I felt broke too after purchasing ours as well! I'm really hoping they're a good fit.

I'm still waiting for my Teepublic order too! I'm a bit worried about the fit as well, but hoping I ordered big enough sizes. We are "fluffy", so skintight clothing is out for us! :rotfl2:

Hey everyone. I am stressing a little. I am in desperate need of a Crystal Palace Dinner reservation for 12/11 for 6 and a Akershus Dinner around 7 PM for 12/12 for 2. I have mouse dining and touring plans. Do you think these will open up as it gets closer? I was pretty positive a month ago, but now that it is still coming up blank I am starting to stress it.

I do think they will open up. I've been looking for a tusker lunch for 2 months for 12/8 and just got an alert yesterday. Same thing happened yesterday with @Iowamomof4 snd her tusker for 6 on 12/29.

Hoping the same thing! I have my fingers crossed for zazzle and teepublic. I'm the one in most danger of not fitting stuff though... I feel DS and DH should be fine.

I have this pooch that I haven't ever been able to get rid of. If I wear a shirt too tight, people ask when I'm due.:scared::rolleyes1:sad2:
