***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Not sure how new this is (only noticed this morning), or what it might be indicative of.....HS now shows dining times all the way up to 10:30 p.m. I know that wasn't always the case, so maybe that's a sign of good things to come?? :-)

Wow, I didn't expect them to extend hours that much! I thought it would be 8pm at most. which days did you see like that? I could only find times until just before 7pm.

@Candycane83 I'm seeing this when I search for dining in all of HS.

So while in MDE:
Parks and Tickets
Hollywood Studios
Dining
Date/Time/Party....then Search

Interestingly, NOTHING is available for the later times on a bunch of random dates/restaurants/party sizes I tried. Maybe more will be released soon?

Ah that makes sense, I searched for 3 dinner and nothing comes up. How many did you search for?

I've tried just about every number! lol I wish I knew how to do a screenshot so I could share what I'm seeing. I'm so technologically challenged! o_O I just know that I've searched this way before (all dining in all of the park) and I have never seen it go to 10:30 p.m. before in HS??

I think this is just a system thing with the dropdowns because you can make late reservations at some of the MK restaurats and most of the resort restaurants. I don't think the drop down time slots get customized for the individual parks. I noticed this was the case for fantastic. The drop downs let you search from noon to fiveish at Hollywood & Vine for the Fantastic dinner package, but it is not offered in conjunction with the Disney junior lunch. I think some programmer didn't bother to update the coding behind the drop downs.

Ah, okay! Thanks for explaining that, ladies! I was sure I hadn't seen that before. Shoot! Hopefully there are real extensions soon!! :thumbsup2 But I did learn how to do a screenshot! lol

I don't think HS is ever open that late except maybe NYE lol. I would be happy with a 1 hr extension and a later SW fireworks. is that too much to ask? Also I would be happy with RoL at 8pm. is that too much to ask as well?

I wouldn't count on it though. just noticed that in the 8/12 update of the calendar they expanded from 12/17 on hours to 8pm at HS. I thought it had been 7 before.

the real question is which will be announced sooner?

Probably a month before just like the SW fireworks schedule :sad2:

my only hope is if RoL does come out that it's two shows with a later one I can make after dinner at CA grill at 5pm

Yes I hope they do come out with a more agressive schedule for it but I don't know now... I'm really just hoping for it to open later... I want to see the tree of life awaken!!

That's right, I remember that now CynBeth. :) If we had just 2 more days, we would without a doubt be doing CP and HDDR. I've heard similar things about the HDDR issues--glad you have yours! Having so many options is both a pro and a con sometimes, particularly for someone who tends to be indecisive (me!). I think we're pretty close to being "finalized" though. Whew! :-)

I know what you mean. We are skipping a few TS restaurants we usually do to try some new ones or go to ones we haven't been to in years. Plus, we might have to change some things around depending on what happens with ROL and SW fireworks. For the CP in the past people said they used to be allowed to stand near the theater at the American Adventure if you decide you want to catch some of the CP if you find time. It is Whoopi Goldberg on 12/2 and most of the week is still TBD unless info came out that I missed.

Ok so I'm in need of opinions if anyone would be so kind.

I think I might have a bit of a dilemma with my MVMCP night. We have HDDMR, and Holiday Wishes Dessert Party booked. It just doesn't seem like there's enough time to get back to Tomorrowland Terrace to check in for dessert party. This is our "rest" day. So we planned on:
- sleeping a little late-ish,
-11:30 Sanaa lunch
-12:30/1:00 catch a bus to MK after lunch and tour the monorail resorts to check out Christmas decorations
-4:00 HDDMR
-6:30 arrive at MK for MVMCP (which means we have to rush to Tomorrowland Terrace to check-in for dessert party and receive "credentials")

So my question is which would you cancel HDDMR or the Dessert Party?

I should add that we are: Me, DW, DD8, DS2, (that's right, I'm a guy. This thread isn't just for the ladies right!?!). None of us have ever been to either of these. We will definitely be returning to DW in the future but I can't say for sure if it will ever be at Christmastime.

Here's a few minor details that may, or may not influence your opinion:

-We are on the DxDDP and I mistakenly booked Category 1 for HDDMR which is not eligible for dining plan so we'll have to pay OOP for that which is kind of a bummer.

-It has been said that the dessert party is a huge time killer. But for MVMCP we don't aspire to do any M&Gs with characters and rides aren't a priority for us either that night. We really just want to take it easy, do a bunch of shopping on MS, eat a bunch of sweet snacks that are bad for us and get sick to our stomachs by the time it's all over. (hence the dessert party)

-What IS a priority is getting a good spot for the parade. But I'm not into camping out for 2-3 hours and holding a spot. Also wanted to see Holiday Wishes from a good spot and with (from what I've read) assigned tables and no standing at the railing at the dessert party might be kind of a crap shoot!

-also on a happier note: we decided to take the $$ we save from canceling one of these and apply it the Wild Africa Trek on our AK day for me and DD8! (high5 Talby!!!). DD and I are both total geeks when it comes to wildlife, zoos, nature shows on TV, etc. She's not exactly sure of her career path right now but she's knows she would like to work with animals in some capacity so I'm really psyched about this.

So if your still reading this, Thank You! And what would you do?

Before I start, I'll admit I've done none of these things you're asking about.

Having said that, I would cancel HDDR. You aren't doing another park that day, so you can enter MK as early as 4:00 pm and could even make fastpasses from 3:30-6:30 on your MVMCP tickets. I would aim to get as much out of those ticket$$$ as possible. I don't know how long HDDR takes, but I imagine you'll miss a lot of your extra touring/shopping time if you do that at 4:00 instead of walking into MK at 4. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks guys! We're really very excited about our Disney date!

My mom found an ADR for my brother and his wife at Citricos, so while the rest of us are dining elsewhere, they'll have an evening to themselves and we'll watch their son and daughter! My youngest two siblings will be able to go off on their own as well (they're 13 and 16). My sisters called and asked if they could join DH and I in USO for the day. I was hesitant at first, but now they'll be joining us. I'm cool with it! They're good girls and they love, I mean LOVE HP, so they're mostly excited for this! Haha!

We also cancelled/added ADRs so I need to do another updated itinerary!

Thanks for your input!
I see your point about the MVMCP tickets. They certainly were an expensive add-on to our trip. Probably a good idea to maximize them. And HDDMR and Dessert Party are about the same $$ so that's kind of a wash. Kind of leaning towards keeping Dessert party.
