Count us in, we just booked 9/30 - 10/4 at the GF today. We just couldn't resist trying out the free dining.
Question for those staying beyond 10/4, did they extend the dining plan past the published ending date since you are checking in before it ends or do you have seperate reservations?

After much angst, I did the switch, I had a room only ressie (waiting for FL res rate) and talked to a knowledgable CM who was able to talk me thru the process , we're booked starting Oct 4 , and we do have he dining pkg for the whole time we're there!

What a mind set change...

We had a wing room and I have heard a lot of negatives about the CR infact the only good thing I heard was it was close to the MK...and dh and kids were not impressed with the theming of the resort and LOVE the volcano pool pics and the idea that we will have a "Hawaiian" vacation within our Disney vacation!! I would do research on them both and see what fits your needs. I was booked for a water view at CR and a garden view at Poly was not a lot more..130 bucks more is all. I just feel more at ease with the mostly positive reviews of the Poly. Can't wait to try it out

Thanks for letting me know. I too am worried (about CT) about what I have read on some of the threads here. But I also know a mother from my Playgroup who has stayed at the CT the last 3 years and she says she loves it? So I don't know what to think for sure and thats why I try to get more and more info if possible, but then again she hasn't stayed anywhere else at WDW, so maybe she hasn't really researched and therefore doesn't know any difference from the resorts and doesn't really care.
My husband wants to stay at the POP because the cost differnce for us for the week was I think? about $1300-1500 more to stay at the CT or Poly for those days? He would like to stay at the Poly but thinks we should save the money this trip due to the fact that it wasn't planned and also there have been so many nice things said about the POP? So I am still booked at POP for now but maybe will switch a couple nights for CT or Poly so that the price won't be such a differnce, anyway we will see what happens?LOL

Hey you know what...if I had just two kids I would stay at POP or a value but we have too many durn kids to stay there unless we want two rooms and my OP about that is well is if I am paying almost as much at a value than I would be at a deluxe then I am doing a deluxe...I would stay in a moderate if I could but I think I am going to like the Poly, I also think dh is going to hate the bill. Plane tickets went UP not down for taht week!!! I also lost some business that I wasn't expecting. I probably just high tail it back to the POR AB but NAHHH we'll make due.

I hope when you go you all have lots of fun!!!!!
I know what you mean about airline prices going up. We are coming in 6:00pm Oct 1st instead of earlier that afternoon because the price cost was too much difference to come in just a few hours ahead. And since our kids are smaller it doesn't make much since for us to come early in the morning because when we have to wake them up earlier then normal they are so so out of sorts that day which as you know can make are really bad air trip.
Let me know later if you change you mind on resorts and I will let you know also!

tinknme - We just exchanged posts on the transportation board re POP to Chef Mickeys. I see you stayed at POP your last trip. This will be our first time there. I'm assuming you liked it since you're going back. Anything special you'd care to mention about it?

Hi there! I have never stayed at any other resort, so I have nothing to compare with. This will be our 3rd time staying here. We have always been in the 50's building(Lady)& it is very close to the buses, foodcourt, & gift shop. The bowling pin pool is nice as well, does not seem to get to crowded. Most of the kids go over to the Hippy Dippy pool. The laundry facilities are right there at the pool. So while the laundry is in the wash I relax by the pool & I have not yet been to the laundry & found it full. I have so far been lucky & able to get my laundry in the wash without waiting. The foodcourt has a pretty decent menu with something for everyone. Yes it does get busy, but not to where you can't manage it. I hear that breakfast is really busy, but we usually eat in our room. We buy the refillable mugs, the boys love the blue slushies I think they are well worth the money paid. Check in has always been quick & very friendly. Housekeeping is wonderful, always leave extra soaps, towels, ect, & the towel animals are just to cute! I also love that PC does not share a bus with other resorts. Never have had problems with long waits, ecwept 2 times. Once on our trip in Feb leaving MK after close & the other time at AK in June on EMH leaving the park at close. The wait was maybe 20 minutes, 30 the most. Once the buses start rolling in they move everyone out quickly. The grounds at PC are really nice as well. Some think the big icons are to loud looking, but I love them! Take a walk around & really look at everything. There is a nice walking path by Hourglass Lake, very relaxing. Also in the lobby where you check in be sure to check out the memorabilia from past years on the walls. Really bring back some memories lol I am sure you will love it. Sometime I might try another resort,but for the price & atmosphere I find myself going back.

We will be at POP (our first time at this hotel!) Sept 29-Oct.4, 2005!

DD will be a CM in the CP this fall and her Birthday is Oct 1. Other family members told they would come down at that time.... but they are not going to go unless room only codes come out for the moderates. They didnt think free dining was such a great deal. I have no idea what her CM discounts will be or if she can get what they want for when they want it.... and of course now they are saying they want to go in mid september and would just celebrate her birthday a week or so earlier.... I know she will have made friends, but birthdays have been very small and intimate around here for years... home cooked dinner, home baked cake, a couple of gifts. Both my children would rather have that then an expensive party out. I figured we could go to one of the dinner shows -- and celebrate in style. Since both kids are that week -> it will be fun.

We are going for an anniversary/birthday celebration Oct. 1-7th. It is my husband's first time to WDW and I really want it to be magical for him! We're staying for 1 night either at POFQ or POP (I can't decide, any suggestions are welcome) and then we are transferring to SSR for the rest of our stay. Hope to see some fellow DISer's around while we are there!

Count us in!!! Very excited- Finally staying at the Boardwalk ...my dds(8 and11 yrs) have been begging me to stay here for such a long time. It made me so happy see their excitement when I told them where we were going to stay.
