Any one do the 1st week in Oct., how's the crowds and the weather. The good, the bad. Starting to plan a trip for next year with the grand son.
Thanks.

We went this year Oct 7-14 (I know, that's technically the 2nd week, lol)! The crowds were low and the weather was wonderful--mid 80's first of the week, then high 80's, but the humidity was not high. We went to Epcot during the week and even the Food and Wine crowd was not bad at all; most booths only had one or two people ahead of you for samples. I think some people were still there for free dining, but it didn't affect our ability to make our ADRs--one I made just a week before we went.

I did read on the boards before we went, that the lovebugs were swarming until just about Oct. 3-4 or so. Then they completely disappeared, so hopefully you won't have to deal with them. I'm so glad we have fall break from school, b/c it seemed to be an ideal time to visit WDW! And we only had one day of rain, and it only lasted until 2 p.m. or so, then the sun was back out! :sunny:

We've done October recently. This year (2006) was terrible! Weather was lovely, but crowd levels were really high some days. MK was always busy, AK not much better! Love bugs were everywhere - it was sickening actually how many there were.

We're not going to book Oct next trip, probably early Sept is a better time to go (and I loved Oct, in 2004 we virtually had all the parks to ourselves and have several pics of a virtually empty MK!!)

We were there this year from September 29th - October 7th and it was still quite hot. The weather started to break a couple of days after we left from, what I heard.

The crowds were fine some days and busy other days. We did Magic Kingdom on Sunday October 1st and it was busy but not too bad. The worst was AK on the 6th. It was the Friday leading into Columbus Day weekend so we expected it to be a bit busier but AK on Friday was pretty bad. We did Epcot and MGM mid week and they were not bad at all. Epcot was a little busier due to the Food and Wine Festival but not bad for a weekday. We did end up having dinner Friday night at San Angel Inn in Epcot and it was pretty packed on our way to the Mexico pavillion so I think all the parks must have been pretty bad that day.

Of all the times we have been, that was the worst I have seen Animal Kingdom I think. I think the time we did AK on New Years Day it seemed less busy then that Friday we went this year. Even though the crowds seemed big the ride waits were not too bad. The only thing we ended up waiting a long time for was EE since we did not get over to that side of the park in the morning for a fast pass. We ended up waiting 45 minutes to ride EE.

We have been a few times at the time of the year. It seems to be getting busier each time but usually not too bad. The weather is still warm and sometimes it's in the 80's but this time it was still 90+ in the days.
