We went last year the last week in Sept. and we booked for the 1st week in Oct this year. Should it be about the same as last year. We were able to walk up to almost every ride with very little or no wait it was great. :thumbsup2 This year we are taking my inlaws so we are excited, they have never been so I want them to have a great time and enjoy WDW w/o all the crowds. Will that be possilbe the 1st week in Oct???? Sun-Fri

the only thing that could be a problem is the food/wine festavial over at Epcot.

everything else should be walk on.

the golf tournament and the other stuff going on over at WWoS I don't think starts until the 2nd week?

but still that shouldn't be a lot of other people in the parks.

I agree. Last year I think we left on the 3rd of October. There was definitely a difference (especially at Epcot) in the crowd from the last part of Sept. into Oct. The evening EHM got to the point where it wasn't worth it to go. I'm worried our Oct. trip will confirm what I started to consider a couple years ago....that I should do back to back Sept. trips and forget Oct. But, I like going in Oct. to celebrate my dd's birthdays (7th and 15th), so for now, we'll deal with the F&W crowd and go then.

I don't know why F&WF is such a draw. They have bands there, etc., but if you don't wait forever to actually get a seat, it's like a mob scene in the WS. We tried to just walk past the area where the Beach Boys were playing two years ago and I could barely get through the crowd. The food booths are interesting, but not being a drinker, I don't get into the other stuff.

The food and Wine Fest is not at Epcot everyday is it???? Or is it spread out over the week??

Thanks for yalls help. :wave2:

I believe that in the past five or six years, the numbers of southern schools adding a Fall Break has increased. There is a trend for schools to start back earlier in August and then take a week off in October. I believe this also has an impact on attendance at the parks. Our school system begins on Aug. 2nd and then has 2nd week of Oct. off for Fall Break. Some schools begin even earlier and take the 1st week of Oct. Other systems near ours have an alternate calendar and take two weeks off in Oct. So I think many people head South during this time.

Every day it's there.

We went early Oct last year and the only time it was crowded was Epcot on the weekend as I think many of the locals come out then. Everything else was very quiet.
