We just got back. We were there Nov 1-7. We usually go 2nd weeek of Nov. The crowds were much larger this time. Was Jersey week soley resonsible? Or was the resort special also contributing?

I hear it does get much more crowded for the Jersey week--also this weekend is soap weekend. How bad were the lines???

We were also at WDW Nov 1-7 and at our showing of Hoop-Dee-Do, I would estimate that over half the audience was from New Jersey.

It would get crowded to walk every now and then, but the lines weren't bad. We walked on M:S twice (listed as a 5 minute wait, probably more like 10) and somehow managed to get to all the shows within about 5 minuites before they started and had no problems getting in.

Fantasmic looked pretty full, though.

We also just got back from our Jersey Week trip. Although the parks occasionally felt crowded as we were walking along, the attraction waits were minimal. We also rode Mission:SPACE twice with no wait. Same for RnRC. Just to give you an idea, posted wait time for RnRC was 5 minutes mid-day on Wednesday. We walked right into Pirates and everything in Fantasyland. We did use FastPass for a few things - Buzz, Space Mtn, and couple others. But overall, waits were no problem at all.

I agree with you, disneysteve - we were pleasantly surprised at how short the lines for the attractions were, given the speculation on the boards about large crowds due to Jersey week. Of course, YMMV based on what you want to do (anyone wanting to do Dumbo or PPF on a Saturday afternoon would probably think it was very crowded indeed). We walked on to most attractions from 11/2 - 7. Our longest wait was 35 minutes for Splash Mountain on Sunday afternoon, 11/2- we couldn't do FP because we needed to leave the MK before the return time. The posted wait time was 25 minutes, but so many folks were returning in the FP line that it slowed things down. Other than that - a 10 minute wait for JC, and a walk-on everywhere else, including HM and PotC. We had a great time!

fraz (no longer scared of Jersey week)

In NJ--the schools are closed Thursday and Friday for teachers conventions--usually the first week of November--some schools are also closed wed. for in-service or Tues. for election day or the following week for veterans day so the kids usually only miss a day or 2 from school during a one week period and it is a good time to go to Disney world.

The crowds were what I am used to seeing at Xmas time, but the lines were short or non existant. And we walked in to every restaurant we chose with no PS.

Does this mean the crowds of people were not lining up for rides and not eating in restaurants? What do the crowds during Jersey Week do, just wander around in big crowds and then go back to their hotel to eat? Oh, those wacky new jerseyers, or whatever they call themselves! Hey, I'm a jerseyite at heart because I root for the underdog and I like "the Boss." :sunny: ::yes:: :wave2:

But I've also read about the crowds and I'll avoid Jersey Week if possible. :D

I honestly do not know what they were doing other than walking around. Although I suppose just walking around at the food and wine festival makes sense.

But the other parks were equally crowded, to the point of making getting around in an ECV difficult.

I have to admit that I did not do a lot of the rides because of the ECV thing. But we did walk right in to the Haunted Mansion, Jungle Cruise, Carousel of Progress, It's Tough to be a Bug, The Great Movie Ride, and everything in Future World.

Our only real line up was 20 minutes for the Pirates.

I agree that the parks seemed crowded at times, though I don't think I'd put it in the same league as Xmas week. Monday in MK was pretty busy, though again, ride waits were almost non-existant and the restaurants weren't particularly crowded either.

The other parks actually didn't seem all that crowded to us. MGM particularly seemed pretty empty when we were there on Wednesday.

I'll certainly go back next year for Jersey Week. Its a great opportunity for us Jersey folks and the crowds were not bad at all.

We were there from November 4-12 and I thought it was extremely crowded. It was my 4th off-season trip and by far the most crowded. One day, the Pooh Fastpass was sold out before 3pm. By noon, we couldn't navigate Fantasyland with a stroller. It was awful. AK and MGM were also crowded, as was Epcots' Food and Wine. Futureworld was never crowded when we were there. We didn't experience too long in line because we got there at park openning and used Fast Pass.
