My DF & I are heading to Disneyland Paris next week this will be our first visit to the park and my DF has just asked me what surprises I have planned. We've been to Disneyland & Disney World and I usually have some little surprise for him from tips I've picked up on the web but it looks like I've set myself a high bar and now I'm searching all over for those little Disney Magic tips and can't really find anything other than the usual how to avoid the crowds tips.

Does anyone know of any little hidden things or special things if you happen to be in the right place at the right time type of events, I'm in danger of losing my Fairy Wings lol

it might give us an idea of what you're looking for if you tell us what kind of things you've organised as surprises in the past?

Nothing big really I can't even take credit for them it's stuff Disney does I just make sure I get to the right places and keep them a surprise best one would be the snowfall during the Disneyland Cali fireworks, that one was tough to keep a secret but worth it lol

okay well theres Dreams every night at park closing, and there is the character descent of the stairs at the Disneyland Hotel at 4pm on Thursdays through to Sundays every week.

You could treat him to breakfast in the Disneyland Hotel too, you don't need to be a guest to eat there and its a fabulous way to start your morning.

There are also the Main St Vehicles which take passengers up from the bandstand area to the Castle each morning, there is a vintage car, police wagon, fire engine, and horse-drawn trolley bus.

You can book a birthday cake in all table service restaurants whether its your birthday or not - if its a character restaurant the characters will bring it out

Or you could go upstairs in the castle and out onto the balcony for a view over Fantasyland - this is something you cant do in the American Parks - and in the dungeon there is a dragon

that's great! I'll be writing those down I'll definitely be checking out the vehicles and the Dragon :thumbsup2

I'm guessing you like the little touches that go unnoticed by regular guests ?

The dog barking and the dentist's drill in Main Street
Check out the coffee cup hoarding also in Main Street.
There used to be telephones throughout the park inside stores such as Dapper Dans where you could listen to conversations, not sure they still work though.

The wicked queen appears in the window above the entrance to SW attraction

Someone is watching from the window at Phantom Manor, not always working but was during our last trip Jan, 2012.

The phantom watches you leave, look upto the top window of the house as you exit.

Look out for the photograph of Walt Disney as you walk through the house to the doom buggies in Phantom Manor.

Put your ear against the large tomb in Boot Hill.

Some of the graves from Boot Hill have slipped into the water, you can only see them from the paddle steamers as you pass Boot Hill look in the water.

Look out for the TRex skeleton from the paddle steamer.

Upstairs inside the castle, you can hear the armoured soldiers snoring and if you look carefully one has a blue tinge and the other pink, having been caught up in the fairies magic.

Also in the castle, the picture in the stained glass window changes.

Is this the sort of thing you're after ? :)

There are loads more ;)

These are great tips, Jill :goodvibes

Is there a complete list anywhere? I seem to remember seeing a link a couple of years ago to a thread listing things to look out for but that it was no longer up to date.

I'm not sure if there's a website, I know we had a thread on here a long time ago, perhaps I'll have a look and try to resurrrect it.:)
Some I've picked up from my copy of Sketch to Reality, some just from the web and different forums.
This is one of my favourites from recent times and I forgot to look for it last visit.
As we all know in Toy Story land we are the size of Andy's toys, but has anyone ever noticed Andy's foot print ?

Oh wow, that's brilliant! I've never noticed that before :rotfl:

I'll definately keep an eye out next time we visit :)

there are loads of fabulous touches in Toy Story Playland - look up on the side of the plane at the entrance to the Parachute Drop ride - Andy has signed his name.

the phones in the Market Street deli still work, you can eavesdrop on the party line conversations in there.

you can also hear a guy taking a shower from the windows above Victorias near the entrance to the Discovery arcade.

The glass booth office inside the Kodak shop has real artifacts from George Eastman's workshop.

I really think you should consider taking the DLP main park guided tour :) - its an absolutely fascinating couple of hours - we have a couple of trip reports for it here -

If you scroll down the Very Useful Info sticky there's links to Hidden Mickeys and Secrets threads. They may be out of date now but you'll still have fun looking and if you find any new ones come back and add them!
