We just returned from our first trip to Universal. We have been DVC members for 10 years, and make at least one trip a year to WDW. We've never done anything outside of the Disney bubble, though. DVC rooms "cost" a lot more on weekends, so we thought that this trip we'd spend the weekend at Universal instead.
Who are we? DW and I are each 55, and both of us retired this year. We brought along our two granddaughters, Kayla (age 13), and Andrea (turned 10 on our last day).
We spent four nights at the Beach Club Villas at WDW, checking out Friday morning. We then drove to HRH and stayed there Friday, checking out Monday. We had a late flight home, so we really got to spend four days checking out Universal. We had the six day passes, and went to a park each day.
Instead of a blow-by-blow description of what we did, I think what I'll split it up into a post on HRH, one on the parks, and then a summary. I'll try to avoid comparing WDW to Universal where possible, but I'm sure some of that will creep in anyway.
Who knows when (if?) I'll get to the summary, so let me cut to the chase and say that we had an awesome time and will return for sure!
