DW and I are going the first week in November for the first time without the children (all grown). What would be a good resturant for just the two of us to go to that still has characters? We've done Chef Mickey, so not there, we've don't The Yachtsmen Steak house (of course no characters) and that was too fancy (and $$$$$$$). So, someplace fun, medium price without exotic food, and characters ?

TIA

Crystal Palace is fun, has regular buffet-style food, and has characters (as long as you like Winnie the Pooh). We don't have kids and still enjoyed it immensely!

I second Crystal Palace. DH and I ate there on our honeymoon at the beginning of this month and it was wonderful. The food is simple, but very yummy, and Pooh and his friends start walking around immediately, making sure to stop at every single table. We went for breakfast and they had the basics: eggs, bacon, toast, muffins, waffles, bagels, fruits, cereals, etc. Again, very simple, but soo good. I hate eggs but loved theirs. GL!

Liberty Tree used to be a character dining now it's just good home town cooking and plenty of it. It's served family style all you can eat and you don't have to share a table. :thumbsup2

I would also say either Crystal Palace or GF 1900 Park Faire.......

I agree with others that Crystal Palace is a good choice, as is 1900 Park Fare. Too bad Liberty Tree doesn't have character dining any longer. My DH and I celebrated our anniversary there this time last year and it was the best dining experience of the trip. It's wonderful food, so still a good choice for us.

My DH & I will be going to WDW kidless this year as well 10/24 - 11/2. Should be fun! :cool1: Enjoy your trip!

I really like the Cape May Cafe, especially since I love the boardwalk / beach club area. My DH and I just got back from a 4 night September trip. Feel free to check out my TR in progress. You will find picture of CMC there!. Look around pages 8/9.

My DH and I are just back from our first childless trip. Our daughter started college this fall so she could not go with us, although she is coming on our winter break trip.

We really enjoyed ourselves - it was a different experience being on our own. We had lots of fun. For a character meal, I'd second the Crystal Palace. My husband loves the buffet there and the characters are great. Chef Mickey's has the mouse and Minnie, but the food is not as good as the Crystal Palace in our opinion.
