This will be our first trip to Disneyland. We are so excited! We are planning on going the last week of March & have made hotel reservations at the Fairfield Inn, across from the main gate. Should we stick with this location or look for something else?

The Fairfield is a fine option. No need to change unless some other consideration comes up. My advice on DLR hotels is sumamrized here:

Have a magical trip! pixiedust:

Thanks for replying! The link to mouse planet showing the distance to the park from the hotel is great being I am a visual thinker. My daughter will love that link also!

The Fairfield is great. I've stayed there a couple of times. It's almost literally across the street from the main gate, you'll be able to walk right over, no problem.

We stayed at the Fairfield a very long time ago (11 years!) but we loved the location and the fact that there were affordable dining options within walking distance. I think you'll enjoy it.

Stick with the Fairfield. If you look at my siggie, you will see that we have stayed there 4 times. We've enjoyed every stay. The hotel is clean and the staff has always been very helpful. Enjoy your trip!:wave2:

Mimi's is great, there is also Millie's (really good breakfasts!) and there is a McD's right there too.

In addition to the ones listed so far, there is a Quiznos at the front of one of the hotels on the way to and from the park. Another "sweet spot" is Cold Stone Creamery extremely close to the crosswalk to go to DL. Other area places are Tony Roma's and IHOP.

Stayed there in Dec and it was quiet, clean and friendly staff. Also I loved the free lemon water in the lobby! :)

I am excited for you to visit DLR. I hope you have the most magical vacation!!! :)
