Planning our first Disney trip in March 2011 followed by Disney cruise. Myself and husband and 3 children (7, 5, & 2). Wondering how I get letters sent to my home for each of the kids, but different characters, welcoming them before our trip.
Also, have ADR for Cinderella's Castle, Planet Hollywood, Donald's Safari, Chef Mickey's, Spirit of Aloha Dinner, Crystal Palace and last but not least, T-Rex. Anything else we should see or do besides the obvious? I made my Disney maps and highlighted the must sees and dos. Please help make this the most extraordinary vacation ever!!

First off, I've got to admit that I don't know how to get letters from WDW. I do know there is a way; try posting your question on the community board. Otherwise, it looks like you're on your way with the planning. :thumbsup2 A few not so obvious things your kids (and you too! :goodvibes) might like.

In EPCOT, try the KimPossible missions. We did some, they're great! Also try The Great Piggy Bank Adventure in Innoventions West. We (the adults) only did it because our youngest wanted to... we had a blast. Also make sure you go to Turtle Talk with Crush. The 5 and 2 yr olds will probably take it in stride, the 7 yr old might want to know how it's done. Disney Magic of course.

DHS, interact with the Streetmosphere characters, they're hillarious.

MK, make sure, and I do mean SURE, that you try a Dole whip float at Aloha Isle.

AK, just slow down! Fewer rides does not mean less to see.

That should get you started, good luck! :)

The question is are you willing to do the same in return? What I mean is are you willing to buy postcards and postage at Disney, write out letters and mail while on vacation? If so, go check out the Disney for families board.

Also please be aware that most Fairy Godmailers will only send 1 postcard to a household.

:welcome: to the DIS!

You came to right place. Relax and soak in all you are about to learn and remember. Your first trip is just practice for all your other trips.

Welcome - we are also planning our family's first trip to Disney World, also in March 2011.

Things I have done for planning include lots of reading and posting here on DISboards ;), purchasing and reading the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World, watching lots of Disney movies with the kids, watching Youtube videos of various attractions and eating establishments at Disney to help us plan, and subscribing to touringplans.com so I can plan which park is best for each day we will be there.

Of course, we've also booked our package, and made the one single ADR we wanted (we have the quick service dining plan, but we need two extra meals due to arrival and departure times and decided to pay for a table service meal one evening).

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of our 2011 PassPorter book, it comes out on December 1, and I have it preordered from amazon.com.

Okay, maybe I tend to overdo and obsess, for example it is nearly midnight and here I sit on DIS :surfweb:. Anyway...

:disrocks: :welcome:
